Fortaleza San Felipe
We will visit the San Felipe Fortress is an old fortress of the Spanish Empire located north of the island of Hispaniola in the province of Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. It was built by King Philip II of Spain and was completed in 1577 by Rengifo de Angulo, the fort's warden. The fortress functioned as a prison on several occasions and the patrician Juan Pablo Duarte was held there as a political prisoner on the orders of Pedro Santana. The fortress was built to defend the north coast of the country from the English and Dutch, as well as French pirates in search of the abundant gold and silver in the area. It is located on a hill on the "Puntilla del Malecón", overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, its strategic location protects the entrance to the city from the port. Very good experience and very good treatment
A wonderful experience, we recommend this company 1000% when you go to Puerto Plata, we learned the history of the port, my family and I enjoyed it, the guide was very professional and the experience was unforgettable!!

Amazing Puerto Plata City Tour !!
Tony of Tony Tours arranged an AMAZING tour of Puerto Plata City Tour. Caesar did a series of excellent tours where we got to experience a taste of in depth history of Puerto Plata which included a visit to the Church of San Felipe, Fortaleza San Felipe, built by the Spanish in the 16th century, We visited a manufacturer of authentic Larimar Stones which polished and made incredible larimar and amber jewelry. Caesar took us to Espigon Cigar Shop, a local cigar manufacturer where we learned about how the best quality cigars are made. His tour also included a tour of the history of Macorix rum factory. At Del Oro organic chocolate factory We learned the process for making chocolate from harvesting of coconut bean to the production of organic chocolate candy, soaps, facial creams, cocoa butters. Caesar also took us to Umbrella Street as well as the very beautiful Pasea de Dona Blanca. Of course Caesar took us shopping for souvenirs. All in all, it was an AMAZING day, which I give a rating of 10 out of ten! Call Tony Tours to arrange a spectacular City Tour of Puerto Plata!

Great tour
Our guide was terrific.He showed us all the sites and more.Our visit to the beach was excellent. E&J Taxi we’re on time Great time.Also introduced us to Presidente. Elian Sosa was the best.

Driver no-show
Getting back on the ship after 2 hours waiting in the hot sun. We called several times but the driver never showed. We let our travel agent know as well
