    About this experience

Nestled six miles southeast of The Wave and Coyote Buttes, White Pocket stands as a "Mars-like" spectacle spread across a compact one square mile. A treasure trove within the immense Vermilion Cliffs National Monument of far Northern Arizona, White Pocket is a marvel of geological wonder. Unlike its surrounding counterparts, which boast vibrant red hues, White Pocket is noted for its unmistakable light gray and white palette. Swirling patterns dance across thin layered strata, a feature that makes this location a visual feast for the eyes. The sandy plains here are dotted with modest vegetation, offering a stark yet harmonious contrast to the area’s unique erosive rock formations.

    Terrific Trip!

I went solo with Raymond as my guide. We stopped by the Escalante pullout, the Condor site, and saw the Double-barrel Arch and Flintstone home before reaching our destination. Since I live at an altitude of 700ft, I used an oxygen generator to assist breathing in thin air. Raymond was very patient and knew I could only go so far with amount of time I had on the battery. I was able to take some wonderful shots and saw some dinosaur tracks. Because I took less time than most, upon return he helped me look for Kaibob squirrel. I was very pleased with the sites and, especially, a very patient and kind guide. Thanks, Raymond!

Response from the operator: Thank you for the fantastic feedback! We are so glad Raymond’s patience and guidance allowed you to safely explore the area, capture wonderful photos, and see the dinosaur tracks at your own pace. Helping you search for the Kaibab squirrel was the perfect way to wrap up a great day. We will definitely share your kind words and appreciation with Raymond!

    Exceptional White Pocket tour

Incredible experience. Raymond was an exceptional guide for area and knowing it geological makeup as well as ecological makeup. Sighting scope at the condor area was THE tool to sight them on the ledge. So knowledgeable that he led tour to minimize climbs and drops to accommodate arthritic joints. Got all the iconic photos w/o problems. Coral Cliff tours is the only group to consider! Thank you!

Response from the operator: Thanks for the review! We are so happy you had a great time with Raymond-our Kanab native. Enjoy the pictures!

White Pocket: A Must-Do Adventure from Kanab

Our host highly recommended the White Pocket tour, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience! It’s a 2–3 hour drive from Kanab, with nearly half the journey off-road, which made the adventure even more exciting. White Pocket is an incredibly unique and surreal landscape, offering endless opportunities for breathtaking photography. Our guide, Kyle, was fantastic—extremely friendly, highly knowledgeable about the area and its geology, and always eager to help. On the way back, we even stopped for stargazing and were lucky enough to see the Milky Way, which was absolutely magical. Overall, this trip exceeded all our expectations and was truly an amazing experience we’ll never forget!

Response from the operator: Thanks for the review! We are so happy you had a great time exploring White Pocket with Kyle. Enjoy the pictures!

    Great day at White Pocket

I had a great experience with Raymond as my tour guide for a tour of White Pocket. He pointed out the best spots for photos and explained the geology and history of the area. He set up some great photos as well and I came back with a lot of extraordinary pictures. Coral Cliffs is reasonably priced and the tour was personalized so that I didn't feel I was doing anything beyond my physical capacity. We also saw some unique aspects off the beaten track.

Response from the operator: Thanks for the review! We are so happy to hear you had a great time with Raymond exploring White Pocket. Enjoy the pictures!

PRIVATE White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zion National Park.

How much does PRIVATE White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure cost?

    +

Prices start at $650 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zion National Park usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does PRIVATE White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zion National Park is not rushed.

Is PRIVATE White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zion National Park, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule PRIVATE White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is PRIVATE White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book PRIVATE White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zion National Park can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zion National Park and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does PRIVATE White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zion National Park within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Zion National Park?

    +

Zion trips centre on the Narrows and Angels Landing, canyoneering in slot canyons, e-bike rides along the scenic drive and Bryce Canyon combination days. Permit handling and gear rental inclusions are the biggest quality differences here. On Outty we rank every Zion National Park experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Award Winning UTV Slot Canyon Tour, East Zion 4 Hour Slot Canyon Canyoneering UTV Tour, East Zion Crimson Canyon Hike & UTV Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Zion National Park?

    +

April to May and September to October. Summer means early starts. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Zion National Park?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
