What you get

    About this experience

Come explore some of Southern Utah's most unique slot canyons! This tour begins with a thrilling ride in a customized off-road machine leading to a slot canyon, which is privately accessed and far from any paved roads. Once at the canyon's mouth, the hike begins. The red canyon walls stretch over 100 -feet high on either side, with a gap of only 6-10 feet between the walls to hike through. Led by a guide and local expert, the tour continues on foot through the canyon while learning about Native American history and geographical information. This tour is specific for groups that do not desire to climb, and when the canyon gets too difficult the group will hike back to the UTV and travel to a separate slot canyon and explore the bottom section of it as well.

    Keeping it Safe

This is a strange review to write because the Red Canyon Slot Canyon tour was cancelled due to heavy rain and the potential for flash flooding. I want to praise East Zion Adventures for their professionalism during this challenging weather. We trusted them to keep us safe and indeed they did. They also quickly and easily refunded our money. While we are disappointed that we couldn't go on the tour, we will try to do this again the next time we pass through Oderville, Utah.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful review and understanding! While we’re sorry you weren’t able to experience the canyons with us, safety always comes first. We truly appreciate your trust in our team and are glad we could make the cancellation and refund process easy for you. We hope you’ll have the opportunity to visit us again on your next trip through Orderville.

    Mother Nature’s Glory

John was an amazing guide. He took extra care of us and took us to see Mother Nature at her best after the flash flood. His knowledge was first rate and his personality kept us all entertained. We would all love to do this again if the opportunity presents itself.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We appreciate your kind words and will be sure to share them with John. We hope to have the pleasure of serving all of you again one day.

    Highly recommend

We did the Red Hollow trail ride offered by EZA on their website. We meandered through the hills as our guide, Brent, regaled us with stories. We rode to the top of one of the mountains and had an incredible view of Orderville. Afterward, we walked down to one of the entrances of a slot canyon and got some amazing photos. Their horses were beautiful and well cared for with fun personalities. They chose gentle horses specifically for our kids and they were able to handle them without any issues. They provided a generous brown bag lunch at the end. We would not hesitate to book with East Zion Adventures again.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the trail ride with Brent. We’re especially happy to hear that the kids had a great experience with their horses. Our horses are so special to us, and we take great pride in making sure they’re well cared for and matched with guests who will enjoy their personalities. Thank you for choosing East Zion Adventures, and we hope to see your family again soon!

    Best Slot Canyon Tour Ever

This was the coolest thing ever! The ride on the UTV alone was worth the $. The views were amazing. The kids (3&5) had so much fun climbing and sliding through the canyons. Our driver Mitchell was the absolute best. Very knowledgeable and super friendly. He took the best photos throughout the tour. Would recommend it for anyone and we’d definitely go back!

Response from the operator: Thank you for the coolest review ever! We are so happy to hear how much fun everyone had with Mitchell! We will be sure to share your kind words with him. We hope to have the pleasure of serving all of you again one day soon.

Red Rock Slot Canyon: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zion National Park.

How much does Red Rock Slot Canyon cost?

    +

Prices start at $119 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zion National Park usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Red Rock Slot Canyon take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zion National Park is not rushed.

Is Red Rock Slot Canyon worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 408 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zion National Park, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Red Rock Slot Canyon?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Red Rock Slot Canyon suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Red Rock Slot Canyon?

    +

Around 143 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zion National Park can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zion National Park and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Red Rock Slot Canyon start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zion National Park within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Zion National Park?

    +

Zion trips centre on the Narrows and Angels Landing, canyoneering in slot canyons, e-bike rides along the scenic drive and Bryce Canyon combination days. Permit handling and gear rental inclusions are the biggest quality differences here. On Outty we rank every Zion National Park experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Award Winning UTV Slot Canyon Tour, East Zion 4 Hour Slot Canyon Canyoneering UTV Tour, East Zion Crimson Canyon Hike & UTV Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Zion National Park?

    +

April to May and September to October. Summer means early starts. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Zion National Park?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
