Great Service When we Needed it Most

We booked Gypsy Travel through Viator. We were heading to Cozumel; flying first into Cancun. We arranged private transportation with them for my wife and I to pick us up at the Cancun airport and take us to the ferry Cozumel Playa Del Carmen ferry terminal. When booking with Viator, they offered both a group and a private transport option. I was originally thinking the group options would be fine; but, was upsold on the private option by the Viator agent helping me to secure the reservation. The private option turned out to be the right call for us and I’m glad we paid the relatively small incremental amount for the added flexibility. Our flight to Cancun turned out to be rerouted to Houston for an equipment issue; setting our actual arrival time back ~ 3 hours from the original ETA. Elina, from Gypsy, was our savior during it all. She established contact via WhatsApp well before we departed our original flight. She initially shared substantial helpful information on how the meeting at the airport would go down and confirmed they had the correct arriving flight details. We were all set until the pilot announced mid flight the rerouting and the uncertainty in our arrival that resulted. We WhatsApped Elina as soon as we heard. She was great; reassuring, flexible and competent. She let us know the driver would be set for a new time as soon as we had it. Over the next hour we gave her two different eta updates as our situation changed and she adjusted easily and reassuringly. Once we arrived late in Cancún, she was on it! Walked us through the baggage claim process and coordinated the timing with the driver. When we left the secured airport area, she sent a picture of the sign the driver would be using. Once we connected with the driver I realized our late arrival put us at risk of actually making the last ferry over to Cozumel. Elina was super helpful assuring us we would still make it on time. She helped to let the driver know our situation and shared ferry schedule information with us. When we got to the ferry terminal, with little time to spare before the last ferry over, the driver even parked and walked us over to the ferry terminal to help us secure tickets and get on the ferry. Above and beyond! We were really happy we booked the private option and really happy with the driver, Elina and Gypsy Travel via Viator.

Amazing airport pick up - friendly staff

Amazing and great communication. Fast pick up and signs where to go and for us. We were worried when we were late and the staff messaged us.

    Great ferry transfer to hotel

Overall great experience with a need to transfer from the ferry to our hotel. Our ferry was delayed and we got lost finding the meeting point and our driver was very understanding. Communication was good with confirmation occurring closer to the actual date/time than I would have anticipated, but it happend and was very good afterwards. otherwise a great experience

Private Transfer Cancun-Playa del Carmen/Ferry/Puerto Aventuras: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Private Transfer Cancun-Playa del Carmen/Ferry/Puerto Aventuras cost?

    +

Prices start at $86 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Transfer Cancun-Playa del Carmen/Ferry/Puerto Aventuras take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Private Transfer Cancun-Playa del Carmen/Ferry/Puerto Aventuras worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 137 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Transfer Cancun-Playa del Carmen/Ferry/Puerto Aventuras?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Transfer Cancun-Playa del Carmen/Ferry/Puerto Aventuras suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Transfer Cancun-Playa del Carmen/Ferry/Puerto Aventuras?

    +

Around 48 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Transfer Cancun-Playa del Carmen/Ferry/Puerto Aventuras start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
