Vatican tour
This was a great tour, we able to walk right into the Vatican without waiting in any lines - which were very long. Andy our guide was very friendly and didn't rush us at all. He was very informative and funny. I would definitely recommend this tour guide.

Highly recommended tour and guide!
Sabrina was our tour guide for our morning tour on November 22, 2019. She showed up at exactly 07:15 at the meeting location and we entered the Vatican Museum at 07:30. We quickly went through security and were the very first tourists into the Sistine Chapel that day - what an experience to have our picture taken in the Gallery of Maps with no one else there! Sabrina was very knowledgeable, organized, and mindful of the time. She pointed out all of the highlights with a brief history of each. Sabrina also directed us to other items of interest and how to optimize our time for each. We would recommend only seeing the sites with a tour like Explore Italy and Sabrina. We skipped the line and were able to enjoy the Vatican sites at a depth we would not be able to achieve on our own. Thank you Sabrina for making our short stay in Vatican City a top highlight of all of our holdays ever taken.

The Highlight of our Italy Vacation
As first time visitors of Italy, the trip to the Vatican was a must see. We knew ahead of time that it would be extremely crowded and ticket lines could potentially be quite long. We read glowing reviews of Explore Italy Tours and they were not wrong. We chose to go with the private guide route and had a truly wonderful time. The day began with a hiccup but not due to Explore Italy Tours but rather with our Uber reservation. Our driver cancelled 10mins prior to the pickup time and another driver wasn't available for another 45mins. We ended up cancelling Uber and grabbed a local taxi instead. As a result we were scrambling and couldn't find the meeting spot. Ended up we were a good 10mins walking distance from the meeting point but Explore Italy was gracious enough to walk over to pick us up and we trekked back another 10mins to the main entrance. We finally entered the city with our guide Sabrina. She is a local from Rome and an archaeologist to boot! Sabrina had vast knowledge of the Italian/Roman history, art, religion, and symbolism behind everything we saw during our tour. It was like having Indiana Jones as a private tour guide but with a much prettier smile :) If we had wandered the vast museum without her we would have overlooked without exaggeration 90% of the relevance around us. We are so so glad we went with Explore Italy Tours and can not recommend them enough. If you book with them ask for Sabrina!

I would recommend this tour
I was only in Rome for a couple of days and wanted to see the famous sites, Vatican,coliseum etc. When I walked to those sites I was shocked and astounded by the thousands of people crowded armpit to armpit in line for blocks to get in to these places. I made a couple of inquiries about getting tickets and skipping lines but was told I was too late. But while walking around the outside of the coliseum, i saw a man with a yellow skip the line vest and asked him if i could get into any of these venues. He said sure, how about the Vatican, 7:30 tomorrow morning before it opens to the public. The advertised price was $184.00 euro per person, over $500 for my wife and I in our canadiaN $. He lowered the price to E 111.00 so I took it. He walked us over to the tour company’s office, It was amazing, there was only 4 of us and the guide. . The tour ended at the Sistine chapel after about 2 1/2 hours so we were on our own to take in St. Peter’s basilica , which I thought should have been included which is why i dropped one star. . The guide was extremely knowledgeable and we truly almost had the place to ourselves for the first two hours compared to being in there with 100,000 new friends.
