Can’t wait to return!

This summer, our family fell in love with Portugal and the reason for that was because of the amazing trip that we had guided by our tour guide, Alex. We spent 1 .5 days with Alex and we truly had an incredible experience. He is extremely knowledgeable of the history and lifestyle in Portugal and showed us the most incredible places, including Pena Palace, Caiscais, Cabo de Roca and all around the beautiful city of Lisbon. He tailored our trip to ensure that our children were engaged and had fun. He made all of the history very relatable and something that the whole family enjoyed. We truly cannot wait to return to Portugal and see more of the country with Alex as our guide. To anybody looking to travel to Portugal, I would recommend Alex Alexander 100%.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was an absolute joy spending 1.5 days with your wonderful family exploring Pena Palace, Cascais, Cabo da Roca, and the beautiful streets of Lisbon. I'm so glad the kids stayed engaged and that everyone enjoyed the history and stories—making the experience relatable for all ages is something I truly love doing. Knowing that your family fell in love with Portugal and that I could contribute to that experience is incredibly rewarding. I can't wait to welcome you all back for more adventures! Thank you for your 100% recommendation! Warm regards, Alex

Great day with Alex

Tons of local knowledge & adjusted to our requests (where's the best coffee) on the fly. Great humour too!

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind review! It was a pleasure spending the day with you exploring Sintra, Pena Palace, and Cascais. I'm so glad you enjoyed the local insights and that we could adjust on the fly—finding that perfect coffee is always a priority! And I'm happy the humor made the experience even more enjoyable. Thank you for your recommendation, and I hope to welcome you back to Portugal someday! Warm regards, Alex

Great trips with Alex

When looking for a private tour I did a lot of research and chose Alex. It was a great choice. We did two separate days with him. A tour to Pena Palace, Sintra and Cascais for our wedding anniversary and then my niece joined us for just the weekend so we did a Lisbon day to maximise her time with us. Both days were fantastic and I enjoyed Alex’s style and his reading of how much information we wanted versus just reciting the facts. Highly recommended for both experiences.

Response from the operator: Hi Barrie and A. Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It was truly a pleasure spending two special days with you—first celebrating your wedding anniversary, and then welcoming your niece for a Lisbon highlight tour. I'm so glad you appreciated my approach to sharing information in a way that felt just right for you. Tailoring the experience to your group's energy and interests is something I always strive for, and knowing that both days were fantastic means the world to me. Thank you for your thoughtful recommendation—it was an honor to be part of your family's time in Portugal! Warm regards, Alex

Private Tour to Sintra & Pena Palace, Cascais & Roca: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.

How much does Private Tour to Sintra & Pena Palace, Cascais & Roca cost?

+

Prices start at $109 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour to Sintra & Pena Palace, Cascais & Roca take?

+

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.

Is Private Tour to Sintra & Pena Palace, Cascais & Roca worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 47 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour to Sintra & Pena Palace, Cascais & Roca?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour to Sintra & Pena Palace, Cascais & Roca suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour to Sintra & Pena Palace, Cascais & Roca?

+

Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour to Sintra & Pena Palace, Cascais & Roca start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

+

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
