Best tour guides EVER!
5 stars from beginning to end! We travelled with Pixan Travel and we were completely blown away. Private driver + private tour guide that spoke perfect English. He really kept an eye on us in public places and not being taken advantage of (we were obvious tourists). The ride to Chichen Itzu was full of educational conversations about the Mayan culture and what the temple and its surroundings meant. The actual tour wasn’t just about architecture or history, either. Diego really knew his stuff and stayed aware of my partner’s aversion to the sun’s heat. Afterwards, he preordered our lunch at a great little restaurant in Validolid. As soon as we sat, drinks were served and food was on the table! Which, btw, nothing to scoff at! After a cute walk around town, we then headed to a non touristy cenote (per our request), and had the entire cenote to ourselves! I can’t explain in words how magical it was. Even more magical…. We weren’t pressured at all to be in a time table the entire trip. Phillip and Diego made our trip so incredibly memorable, we even showed our hotel concierge the pics. We Would do it all over again in a heartbeat!

5 Stars ! Incredible Memorable Day !
This day was incredible - so glad I booked this tour ; my family was very impressed ! Our guide Diego picked us up from our hotel prompty at 7 AM. While on the road he took that time to educate us on the Mayan and Chichen itza. He had books, an ipad, and a 3D model of the temple. we LOVED the conversation and his passion for sharing what he's learned. So interesting ! We leared so much while touring chichen itza - so much to take in (the clapping, 'the game', the skulls'. Just incredible ! Afterwards we headed to Valladolid for one of the best authentic Mexican lunches - like, REALLY good food. After checking out a spanish wedding at the monestary, we hit the town square to check out a beautiful church, purchase the best Mexican chocolates, fresh coconut ice, and the tastiest iced coffees before we headed to the cenote. The cenote was the cherry on top - thats all I say because you have to see an experience it for yourself ! Thank you Diego for such a memorable day. My family will remember you and talk about this day for years to come. Bravo !

Perfect Yucatan Day
We had a fantastic day visiting Chichen Itza, Valladolid, and a cenote with Josh as our private guide. He was knowledgeable, engaging and brought the history and culture to life in a way that made the experience truly memorable. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch at a lovely restaurant in Valladolid, and a perfect and relaxing walk afterwards. The cenote visit was stunning and a perfect ending for the day. Many thanks to Diego for organizing everything and to our driver Phillipe for his safe, smooth, and comfortable driving. Highly recommend Josh for a personalized and enjoyable tour in Cancun!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much! Josh has a real talent for making history feel alive rather than just a lecture, so glad that came through. And yes — lunch, a walk through Valladolid, and finishing at the cenote is hard to beat as a day. Diego and Felipe will be happy to hear the kind words too. Hope to see you again! 🙏

Well-Crafted Heritage Tour!
I highly recommend Pixan! Our guide was knowledgeable and calibrated our tour around our energy level. At Chichen Itza he worked to make the storytelling interesting for our kids. The cenote was beautiful and we had it to ourselves for most of our visit. In Valladolid we had excellent sorbet. And the best part is the lunch with the Mayan family—delicious and unique. Way better than our resort’s food!
Response from the operator: Thank you! Touring with kids takes a bit of extra effort and it's great to hear the storytelling landed with them. The lunch with the Mayan family tends to be everyone's highlight — hard to compete with homemade! Glad the cenote and Valladolid delivered too. Hope the whole family comes back for another adventure! 🌿

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Tour to Chichen Itza, Stunning Cenote and Valladolid: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.
How much does Private Tour to Chichen Itza, Stunning Cenote and Valladolid cost?
+
Prices start at $140 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour to Chichen Itza, Stunning Cenote and Valladolid take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.
Is Private Tour to Chichen Itza, Stunning Cenote and Valladolid worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 26 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour to Chichen Itza, Stunning Cenote and Valladolid?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Tour to Chichen Itza, Stunning Cenote and Valladolid suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour to Chichen Itza, Stunning Cenote and Valladolid?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour to Chichen Itza, Stunning Cenote and Valladolid start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
