    Hugo gave the best experience

Hugo was amazing! He let us design the day, and adjusted our stops based on our preferences. He gave a lot of insight to the Portuguese culture, recommended places to try in Lisbon and Sintra. He took us along the coast and amazing views of Cacais. He’s very personable and 100% fluent in English. If you can request him, he makes the day.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your words. It was a wonderful day!!! All the best for you and next family member. Hope to so you again. Regards, Hugo

Private Custom Day Trip -- Sintra

While in Lisbon last week, we knew we wanted to see Sintra and a few beaches during our trip. We searched dozens of sites, companies, etc. looking for the exact trip we wanted that would be within our budget. After days of looking, I decided to reach out to Knight Riders to inquire about a private tour. The company worked with me to help plan a private tour that hit every spot we wanted to go to. This included extensive email communication, back and forth over multiple emails deciding where to go and within what timeframe, and at what price. Ultimately, we decided on a trip that allowed us to see the three main attractions we wanted to see in Sintra in the AM (Pena Palace, Moors Castle and Quinta de Regeleria), and then allowed us to spend the afternoon on the coast, highlighted by an "off the beaten path" beach that we wanted to see, as well as Boca do Inferno, Cabo da Roca, and more. On the day of the tour, Ruben picked us up in a large van, giving us a ton of space (it was only my girlfriend and I). The ride to Sintra (and all day) was easy and comfortable, and the van was nice -- even had a cord to play music. Ruben was great conversation throughout the day, and knowledgeable when it came tohistory of Sintra. Highlight was his extensive conspiracy acumen regarding the Quinta estate. Ruben worked with us to ensure we hit all of our spots in Sintra, and that we had a local meal outside of tourist area as well. Once we headed toward the coast, Ruben showed us more than we couldve asked for, took great pictures, and was determined to help us find Praia da Ursa... the off the beaten path beach mentioned above. Once we found it, we had roughly 1000 feet climbing down to reach the beach. Ruben was happy to join us, and made sure we were safe during the climb. The beach was incredible, well worth the climbs down and up, and was mostly locals as opposed to hoards of tourists. Finishing the day at Cabo de Roca, Ruben showed us the beaches of Cascais, and hungout with us as we enjoyed the end of our day. Had such a great time, we even all had dinner together in Cascais after the tour had "technically" ended. All in all, spent about 14 hours with Ruben and in Sintra/on the Coast, and we could not have had a better experience. We made a friend in Portugal, and we saw incredible sights that exactly lined up with what we wanted to see/do. Absolutely a must do in Lisbon.

    Sintra Day Tour

Ruben was by far one of the best tour guides. He was very knowledgeable about all the history and went out of his way to ensure that we saw everything we wanted to in the short period of time we had. Thank you for everything! I would highly recommend Ruban if you ever require a tour guide in Lisbon.

Private Sintra tour (close to a full day)

I started researching a day before my flight to Lisbon on half day Sintra tours. Due to my limited availability and inflexibility in my schedule I was looking for a quick half day tour to Sintra. I found a couple of tours but the minimum to book them was 2 travelers and they wont book just me since I was 1 person. I came across Knight Riders and called them to see if this was possible. Ines, the owner of this tour company was extremely helpful and accommodating. She offered me a private tour for a reasonable cost. She had amazing customer service and very responsive. After getting into Lisbon, she hooked me with her finance, Diego, who was the guide. 2 of my coworkers ended up joining me on this tour. Diego was quite knowledgeable and knew exactly what he was doing and really understanding what we liked. AMAZING service!! Will definitely recommend to my friends and coworkers!!

    Great Sintra Tour

Jose was great. My husband and I went with my 79 year old parents. Although the weather didn’t cooperate at times Jose was prompt, and explained things well. He was flexible and full of information. His van was clean. He took us to a great old school restaurant out of town after the tours that was cozy and had excellent food and service. The fireplace was a welcome site after the cold rain!!! Highly recommend!!! Don’t try to do this town alone!

Private Tour: The Mystical, Magical, Medieval Town of Sintra with tickets and lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.

How much does Private Tour: The Mystical, Magical, Medieval Town of Sintra with tickets and lunch cost?

    +

Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour: The Mystical, Magical, Medieval Town of Sintra with tickets and lunch take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.

Is Private Tour: The Mystical, Magical, Medieval Town of Sintra with tickets and lunch worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour: The Mystical, Magical, Medieval Town of Sintra with tickets and lunch?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour: The Mystical, Magical, Medieval Town of Sintra with tickets and lunch suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour: The Mystical, Magical, Medieval Town of Sintra with tickets and lunch?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour: The Mystical, Magical, Medieval Town of Sintra with tickets and lunch start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
