Overpriced and disappointing with no guide included.

The driver was prompt and friendly, and he picked us up on time. However, at our first stop, we started to become disappointed because we thought we were paying for a driver and a guide. He simply got our tickets, handed them to us and went back to his car. We were on our own. Fortunately, we are experienced travelers and made the best of it. The walk around Hunnaman Square was excellent - again because we were relying upon our previous experience. At the third temple, he got our tickets and went back to his car. We tried to get in but only Hindus were allowed inside. Frustrated, we went back to the car and cut our tour short.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest Good morning Sorry for not fulfilled your expectation at this time. We provide service as a guest as a God. We always trying our best to make them happy. Hope to serve you best at next time.

Expensive for what you get

I was not given a guide, even so the advertisement on Tripadvisor said the driver would also be guiding. I don't blame the driver, but he said he was only suppose to drive. And I had to find the way to Durbar Square by myself, walking 5-10 minutes in the streets, without knowing where to go (there was no parking nearby). The driver said I should ask strangers for the way, and he waited in the car. Expensive for what you get. Of course, the places you get to see are beautifull, but you could just get there by taxi, for a small percent of the price.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest Namaste Sorry for not fulfill your expectations at this time.Actually this tour is driver as a guide. Next time if you want to hire a tour guide just let us know. We always try to do our best of best to our guests. Give us one more chance to make you happy.Because of customer satisfaction is always primary for us. Thanks and Regards Suresh

False advertising

This tour was supposed to be a private guided tour of four UNESCO Heritage sites in Kathmandu. I told them up front I had already been to one of the places so I only wanted to go to three of the places. When the driver showed up, he did not speak English. He took me to the first place and just dropped me off. He did not even go in with me. I was not happy. I used Google Translate to tell him that I had paid $100 for a guided tour. I did not pay that much simply for a taxi service. I told him that if he was not able to speak English he could at least go inside with me and show me where to go, maybe take a few photos of me on my phone. He said okay. Then the second place he took me, he tried to get one of the "guides" who are always at the tourist sites, trying to make a quick buck. I told him no, I did not want to pay even more money on top of what I had already paid. I told him he needed to take me and show me around, even if he could not talk to me about what I was seeing. So finally he did. He ended up taking me around and showing me where to go, and taking photos for me. He was actually very nice. I got the impression he was not told what he was supposed to be doing. But the company knew he did not speak English, so they never should have sent him to accompany me on this "private tour".

Response from the operator: Dear Guest Sorry for not fulfilled your expectation at that time. we will do our best to you in upcoming days.

Private Tour of 4 UNESCO Heritage Sites in Kathmandu by Car: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Private Tour of 4 UNESCO Heritage Sites in Kathmandu by Car cost?

+

Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour of 4 UNESCO Heritage Sites in Kathmandu by Car take?

+

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Private Tour of 4 UNESCO Heritage Sites in Kathmandu by Car worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 22 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour of 4 UNESCO Heritage Sites in Kathmandu by Car?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour of 4 UNESCO Heritage Sites in Kathmandu by Car suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour of 4 UNESCO Heritage Sites in Kathmandu by Car?

+

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour of 4 UNESCO Heritage Sites in Kathmandu by Car start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
