What you get

    About this experience

Experience old Lisbon at sunset and a ‘fado’ (folk music) dinner show on this private 3 to 4-hour evening walking tour. With an expert guide, explore the Mouraria and Alfama districts, with their cobbled lanes and old bars where fado was born and still reigns supreme. Sample some ‘ginjinha’ cherry liqueur, and admire sunset-washed city views from a panoramic viewpoint. The walk part takes around 90-minutes to 2-hours. Then, visit a traditional restaurant and enjoy a Portuguese dinner alongside rousing performances of fado’s famously soulful songs. Enjoy in-depth attention from your guide on this private tour. Dinner is usually finished after 90_miuntes but you can stay longer to enjoy all the Fado performances that enter into the night.

    Fado neighborhoods and dinner performances

Excellent guide Leslie took through Moureira and Alfama neighborhoods where Portuguese Fado music originated. She provided great overview and history of Fado and went to a few viewing points of Lisbon. We had a nice dinner and Fado performances at a wonderful venue Fama d’Alfama. All in all a great evening.

Fantastic Fado show , dinner, and historic neighborhood walk.

Our guide Daniel met us at the meeting place promptly and told us what to expect for the tour. Since we have a slight mobility problem, we adjusted the walking tour. We went through the old Moorish part of the city and went up to a scenic spot that gave us a panoramic view. Daniel pointed out many points of interest and explained the historical significance. He introduced us to a very charming man who has opened a small tavern since 1974 and served us a wonderful sour cherry liquor, ginghua, and told us some stories regarding Sr. Antonio. We then continued our tour to the Alfama district and showed us the area where Fado was born in the early 1800s. He told us about the origin and some of the godfathers and divas of Fado. The music has a rich history rooted in the pain and passion of the people in Alfama, and Daniel expressed it in his narrative. We then proceeded to a small restaurant that serves typical Portuguese food and drinks and features performances by leading Fdo artists, including one of the co-owners. We were fortunate to be there on a night when the artist playing the Portuguese guitar who happened to be a godfather of Fado who had accompanied the "second Diva" of Fado. During the entire dinner and performances, Daniel discussed the pieces being performed and why he had the tour company allow him to select this restaurant, and Fado show over "touristy" spots. Daniel is truly a gem of a guide, and we highly recommend his Fado and Dinner walk excursion when in Lisbon.

    DANIEL WAS FANTASTIC!

Daniel was extremely knowledgeable on everything Portugal. He shared a lot of interesting information on the city itself along with the Fado music. We all loved our time with him and enjoyed hearing his personal stories as well. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this tour with Daniel.

Private Tour: Lisbon Sunset Walking Tour with Fado Show and Dinner: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.

How much does Private Tour: Lisbon Sunset Walking Tour with Fado Show and Dinner cost?

    +

Prices start at $93 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour: Lisbon Sunset Walking Tour with Fado Show and Dinner take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.

Is Private Tour: Lisbon Sunset Walking Tour with Fado Show and Dinner worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour: Lisbon Sunset Walking Tour with Fado Show and Dinner?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour: Lisbon Sunset Walking Tour with Fado Show and Dinner suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour: Lisbon Sunset Walking Tour with Fado Show and Dinner?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour: Lisbon Sunset Walking Tour with Fado Show and Dinner start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
