We loved Porto - thank you Ricardo for making our time there so memorable!

We had the most wonderful time with Ricardo. We enjoyed our time so much with him the first day we were lucky enough to spend the following day with him. Ricardo showed us all around Porto and nearby areas. We enjoyed all of the wonderful sites, food and history. We were two adults traveling with our 2 year old son. Ricardo made the adventures effortless. We hope our paths cross again in your beautiful country or ours! Thank you for the great memories :)

Response from the operator: WOW Nina thank you so much, your boy is a treasure, so sweet 🍭🐱 ❤️!!! Wonderful and family time 😊 Thank you very much for everything, your friend, Ricardo

A proper local experience with the fam.

Did a private tour with Ricardo last year and, honestly, it was the highlight of our trip. He’s a total legend—he knows Porto like the back of his hand and took us to all these cool, off-the-beaten-track spots we’d have zero chance of finding on our own. The best part? He actually kept the kids entertained. We were a bit worried they’d get bored (you know how family tours can be sometimes!), but they had a blast. It made the whole day so much more chill for us. He also hooked us up with a killer local spot for lunch and even hung out with us while we ate. The traditional food was 10/10 and the Port wine... man, it was to die for. Soooo good! If you want a tour that feels more like hanging out with a local pal than a boring history lesson, Ricardo is your guy. Such a vibe. Thanks for the memories!

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for this amazing review Javier, it made my day 😎 It was such a pleasure showing you and your family around Porto. I’m really glad the kids had fun too, that’s always a top priority on family tours 😊 Next time you’re back, we’ll find a few more secret spots and another awesome local tavern for lunch. Big hug to all of you and thanks again for the great company. Cheers, Ricardo

    The Perfect Day in Porto

Ricardo is a fantastic guide with a heart of gold and an incredible sense of hospitality. Before we even met him, he stopped by our hotel to leave some treats for the front desk to place in our room upon arrival. What a kind gesture, and what an amazing welcome to Porto! We met Ricardo at our hotel and began walking through Porto in the morning. He's so relaxed, conversational, and fun to be around. He was the perfect companion to cure our first full day of jet lag. Ricardo has a wonderful ability to pivot his tour for his audience, and he did a wonderful job of balancing religion, art, history, food, and culture for us. In the afternoon, we had lunch in the Porto CBD at an amazing food hall and then took a drive to the coast. Ricardo nailed this tour. He even gave us solid nightlife recommendations, and we had one of our best late nights in years. Thanks, Ricardo!

Response from the operator: Super Awesomeness :))))))))))))))))) David thank you very much, to be with you and Daniel was like being with long time and good friends :) Thank you again and see you soon!!! Your friend, Ricardo

On and off of the Beaten Path

Porto is now one of the most popular destinations in the world, which means it is often flooded with tourists. You need someone who can help you navigate the city’s ins and outs—both on and off the beaten path. Ricardo Manuel of Douro Tours is the ideal guide: knowledgeable, passionate, and truly local. Our visit was beautifully bookended by two of the most sought-after viewpoints in Porto: Miradouro da Vitória and Serra do Pilar. Ricardo took us to these splendid vantage points—beginning and ending the tour in style, the finale made even more special with a high touch: a bottle of perfectly chilled local sparkling wine served in proper champagne glasses atop the Pilar. Porto is a city of natural advantages, its hills giving it a distinctive charm. It is also filled with architectural gems, such as the Ponte de São Luís (designed by Gustave Eiffel), all set against the bright ribbon of the Douro River. The tour offers you the big picture—an overview of the city—but also takes you straight to the must-see landmarks, the ones usually surrounded by long lines of tourists: Livraria Lello, Torre dos Clérigos, Banco de Materiais – Azulejos, Baixa. With Ricardo, you’ll glide through the crowds and always end up with the best seat in the house. Off-the-beaten-path highlights included Ribeira, Foz do Porto, and Matosinhos. We even enjoyed a memorable almoço at Mercado Bom Sucesso—a truly local, out-of-town-feeling experience. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, and thanks to Ricardo’s impeccable guidance, we had an unforgettable introduction to Porto. We highly recommend Ricardo Manuel!

Response from the operator: WOW Denise thank you very much 🙏🙏🙏 I hope you and Jeremy return to Porto on your 40th anniversary wedding again ❤️💫🍾 Thank you very much, Ricardo 😃

Private Tour in Porto Main Highlights with Traditional Lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Porto.

How much does Private Tour in Porto Main Highlights with Traditional Lunch cost?

    +

Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Porto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour in Porto Main Highlights with Traditional Lunch take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Porto is not rushed.

Is Private Tour in Porto Main Highlights with Traditional Lunch worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Porto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour in Porto Main Highlights with Traditional Lunch?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour in Porto Main Highlights with Traditional Lunch suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour in Porto Main Highlights with Traditional Lunch?

    +

Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour in Porto Main Highlights with Traditional Lunch start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Porto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Porto?

    +

On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Porto's #1 Walking Tour, Small Group Geres National Park Full Day with picnic from Porto. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Porto?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Porto?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
