Great trip with some issues during the camel trip
The first part was the city tour: the tour guide showed us the city in detail. All the balconys, buildings, palaces, and so much more. He also invited us into his home to show us a home within the city walls (he did offer us tea, but did not want to sell anything - so that was great). First part: 5 stars. Second part was the camel tour at sunset. That was a bit strange - at first just some really short camel riding and we were left alone with 90 minutes left til sunset. But then, another guy came and told us, it was a misunderstanding. Finally we got the full experience - a long camel ride, lots of photos and the promised sunset.

Waste of money, these people will cheat you
This was supposed to be a full day (8hrs) tour of Jaisalmer. We were picked up by our tour guide who was literally rushing us through the city (to the point we barely had a glimpse and a single photograph of Patwa Haveli), but instead he took us to his brother's and his friend's shops hoping we would buy something. After 2 hour of tour of only City palace, a Jain temple and Patwa Haveli, he said we can go to Bada Bagh alone with the driver (who didn't speak English at all). We complained saying that we paid 40£ for a full day tour with an English speaking person. He said that he is only a "city guide" and he knows nothing about Bada Bagh which is outside the city. He agreed to come with us, but he literally sat inside the car while we were exploring around on our own. Also he said he was told by the agency (who hired him) to show us the city palace, the Temple and Patwon Haveli only. In the end, the tour lasted only 4 hours. If I could give it zero stars, I would. We were cheated and we want our money back!

Highly recommended guide for Jaisalmer -- Madhusudan (Madhu) Bissa!
We highly recommend Madhu Bissa for your guide in Jaisalmer!! His family has lived in the town for 600 years, so he has a broad and very personal knowledge of the town which he shared with us. He went beyond what was required as we met his family and saw the royal cemetery as well as his arranging a wonderful sunset camel ride with Amin, the terrific camel owner of Desert Boy! That was all in addition to touring the Jain temples, traveling by tuk tuk through the narrow streets and seeing the regular sights of Jaisalmer! Absolutely wonderful!!

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Jaisalmer?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Jaisalmer?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
