    Douro First Tours day trip

Our tour to the Douro was hosted by Douro First tours. It was the best wine tour we have ever experienced. Our tour was managed by Nuno Lisboa. He was a fantastic guide on the day. His knowledge and insight into the history and culture of this famous region is first class. He made our experience very special and is very attentive and friendly. We have experienced wine tours all over the world but this tour to the Douro was by far the best. We visited superb viewpoints, a wonderful tasting experience at Quinta Seara d’Ordends, a traditional boat trip and the most memorable lunch in the owners kitchen. The lunch was absolutely delicious and Andrea is a brilliant chef. We had lots of local delicacies and steaks cooked on a real fire. Thank you Jose and Andrea. The whole experience was absolutely amazing and Nuno made it very special. Thank you again. Steve & Sarah.

Response from the operator: Thank you, Steve and Sarah! We really appreciate your feedback. Hope to see you soon! Best Regards, Team Douro First

Wonderful private tour of the valley

This was our favorite experience and tour we did in Portugal. The private tour was just me and my husband in a beautiful and comfortable car. Our driver Nani was AMAZING. So friendly and really seems to care about making your tour great. I highly recommend this tour.

    Douro Valley Tour

Porto Informative and Delightful Tour 973393130 My granddaughter and husband had visited Porto a few years ago and enthusiastically recommended Alfredo at tourvent. My friends and I were going to Porto and contacted him. Extraordinary! He picked us up at 8:30 am and took us to the Douro Valley. Along the way, he described the uniqueness of the Valley. We toured a vineyard with Alfredo and the vineyard owner, enjoyed a wine tasting, went to another to sample some ports, had a lovely lunch at a scenic inn and restaurant, cruised a portion of the Douro, had a final wine tasting, and before we knew it, it was 7:30 pm. Time flew! We’d go again, and we enjoyed every minute. Alfredo is a wonderful, kind, and interesting guide. Well worth learning about this area with him to guide you.

Response from the operator: Dear Goo, You wrote your feedback on the wrong company. I think Mr. Alfredo works for Tourvent. You can send your feedback to: tourvent@tourvent.com . Kind Regards JR

    Best Way to See Douro!

We spent the day with Jaou and it was quite entertaining! He has a vast knowledge of Douro Valley, both the history (test him - you won’t be dissapointed) as well as the wineries. He made sure to stop and give us opportunities to take many scenic photos and fill us in on the coordinating history of that location. The winery we visited was Quinta Seara d’Ordens. It’s a multigenerational family owned winery with many options to please the most discerning of palettes. We had lunch at Quinta De La Rosa and it was delectable. He is personable and truly seemed to enjoy what he does. He made the day memorable for us! If you don’t want to be shuttled around like cattle, the private tour is the way to go!

    Exceptional experience in Porto

Thank you to Joao. We started our full first day/visit to Porto with a vineyard tour. Joao provided us with an enjoyable and educational trip. The drive, the food, the wine tasting and the company was exceptional and memorable. One of our cell phones was left behind by accident and Joao immediately reached out and brought it to us. We highly recommend this tour to others, especially if you are looking for a personal experience. Joao was very knowledgeable about Portugal, its history, the people, the food and the wines. Giving Joao a 10 star review. Respectfully, Michael and Amy USA, Connecticut

    Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Porto.

How much does Private Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $254 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Porto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Porto is not rushed.

    Is Private Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 83 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Porto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Tour?

    +

Around 29 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Porto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Porto?

    +

On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Porto's #1 Walking Tour, Small Group Geres National Park Full Day with picnic from Porto. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Porto?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Porto?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
