A real Cozumel experience!!
If you’re looking for a stress-free, personalized day in Cozumel, skip the crowded cruise excursions and book a private driver through Tours Plaza. We were recently there on a port stop and the experience was seamless from start to finish. Communicating with Edwardo beforehand was a breeze; he was incredibly professional and answered all our questions. Our driver, Benjamin, was waiting for us right as we hopped off the ship. He was fantastic, super friendly, and knowledgeable. The van itself was spotless and the AC was blasting, which was a lifesaver in the Cozumel humidity. Most importantly, Ben was very mindful of the time and made sure we were back at the pier well before our "all aboard" call, making it stress free.
Response from the operator: Tank you soo much for youre review my frend!! We are very happy you guys have a great day in Cozumel with Tours Plaza Benji is going to be very happy for youre kind words We always try make the tour easy, relax and no stress for all our guest and very importent make sure everybody back to the ship on time Tank you again for trust in us during youre cruise stop and we realy hope see you guys again next time in Cozumel amigo!!

You won’t regret booking this tour!!!
We were visiting Cozumel on the Independence of the Seas and decided to book with Tours Plaza after reading a ton of reviews—so glad we did. From the start, Edwardo was super easy to communicate with and very responsive. When we got off the ship, our driver Ben (Benjamin) was easy to find and got us going right away. We had an awesome day. The van was clean, comfortable, and nice and cold (huge plus in the heat). Ben was super friendly and easygoing, and really just rolled with whatever we wanted to do. We told him we wanted something more local, not the typical tourist stuff, and he nailed it. He took us to a small neighborhood spot for tacos (so good), a tequila tasting, and then to a beach where we had lunch right by the water with our feet in the sand. Honestly, it felt like hanging out with a local friend. He also made sure we got back to the ship with plenty of time, which we really appreciated. If you’re on a cruise and stopping in Cozumel, skip the big group tours and book with Tours Plaza—you’ll have a way better experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for youre kind words!! We are very happy you guys have a great time in Cozumel with us Benjamin is going to be very happy to know you enjoy the tacos, tequila tasting and the beach. We always try to show our guest more local places and not only the turist stuff. Was a real plesure to have you with us during youre cruise stop. Thank you again for taking time to leave this amazing review and we hope see you again next time in Cozumel!!

Cozumel Experience
We’re a family from Houston and after reading like 200 reviews we ended up going with Tours Plaza for our day in Cozumel. Our cruise sailed from Galveston and we headed straight to the island. I was a bit nervous, not gonna lie, cuz that day there were gonna be like 6 ships in port, so I was picturing a total madhouse at the pier. But we found our driver in less than 15 minutes, easy as can be, the instructions and his uniform made it He was super friendly, and the minute we hopped in the van I felt very relaxed. I’d been hearing stuff in the news about violence in Mexico, so yeah I was a little on edge, expecting maybe less security or something. But Cantaro (that’s our driver/guide) is a true gentleman. Funny, kind, real easy to talk to, and he made us feel safe right away. I finally relaxed cuz it honestly felt like we were in good hands. We didn’t have a strict plan, so he just took us around to places we were interested in. We stopped at spots where they show you how they make chocolate and tequila, real interestin, and they let you taste all kinds of flavors and smells, which was a lotta fun. Then we went to a little bee farm with those Mayan bees that don’t sting, no stinger at all. They had all sorts of stuff made from honey, like soaps, shampoos and such. After that he drove us over to the other side of the island and wow… it’s somethin else. The difference between the west and east side of Cozumel is just night and day. The east side feels wild and wide open, hardly anybody around, fresh ocean breeze, shells everywhere, birds and seagulls flyin all over. Felt like a whole different world. We stopped at one of those little beachside restaurants and let me tell ya, that fried fish and ceviche were downright delicious. Simple, fresh, just perfect. After that we headed to a beach called Chen Rio, and it was beautiful. There’s all these rocks that form little natural pools where you can just lay back and let the ocean water wash over you. Real peaceful spot. By then I had eaten so much I was about ready to pass out haha, so we decided to skip a few other places and save ’em for next time. Stuff like the Mayan ruins (can’t recall the name), climbin that lighthouse at the tip of the island, and wanderin around all the jewelry shops, perfumes and all in the shopping area. Truth is, we fell in love with Cozumel. Way more than we expected. We’ll definitely be back someday, but next time we’re stayin at a hotel cuz there’s just so much to see and do. It’s a whole different Mexico than what you hear about on the news, that’s for sure.
Response from the operator: Hi guys, Thank you so much for your awesome review and for choosing Tours Plaza during your visit to Cozumel! We’re really glad everything went smooth, even on such a busy day, and that you felt comfortable and safe the whole time. We’ll make sure Cantaro hears your kind words—he’ll love it! Sounds like you had a great mix of experiences (and food 😄). Next time we’ll be ready to show you the spots you missed! Hope to see you back soon!

Why this scores 75
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Tour: 5-Hour Cozumel Sightseeing with Private Driver and Tequila Tasting: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cozumel.
How much does Private Tour: 5-Hour Cozumel Sightseeing with Private Driver and Tequila Tasting cost?
+
Prices start at $173 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cozumel usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Tour: 5-Hour Cozumel Sightseeing with Private Driver and Tequila Tasting take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cozumel is not rushed.
Is Private Tour: 5-Hour Cozumel Sightseeing with Private Driver and Tequila Tasting worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 134 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cozumel, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Tour: 5-Hour Cozumel Sightseeing with Private Driver and Tequila Tasting?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Tour: 5-Hour Cozumel Sightseeing with Private Driver and Tequila Tasting suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Tour: 5-Hour Cozumel Sightseeing with Private Driver and Tequila Tasting?
+
Around 47 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cozumel can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cozumel and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Tour: 5-Hour Cozumel Sightseeing with Private Driver and Tequila Tasting start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cozumel within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cozumel?
+
On Outty we rank every Cozumel experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jade Caverns and Mayan Village Cozumel ATV TOUR, Buggy, Beach & Snorkel Blast, ATV 4×4+Cenote+Snorkeling+Beach Club+ Lunch+Sabores de Cozumel. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cozumel?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cozumel?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
