Lovely Jack Crevalle fishing with family!
We booked Jack Crevalle fishing mid October, three adults (wife, mom & dad) and two teenager (daughter 12,14). Our captain Peter contacted us the day prior to fishing and asked if we could come earlier in the morning due to inclement conditions. We set out fishing early morning, dropped two crab pots then headed out for Jack Crevalle. As expected the water was rough due to wind but our captain did a superb job keeping us in calmer waters and we hit on so many fish. We were out six hours and hardly noticed because we were having so much fun. We would 100% recommend Captain Peter any day.
Response from the operator: Thank you for such a fantastic review—Captain Peter will be absolutely thrilled to hear it! Reaching out ahead of time to adjust for the weather is just one of the ways he goes the extra mile, and we’re so glad your group was up for the early start. Handling rougher waters while keeping you on calm spots *and* loading up on Jack Crevalle? That’s a six-hour trip done right. We truly appreciate the 100% recommendation—can’t wait to have you and the family back for another round of rod-bending fun! 🎣

Great day for catching little fish!
It was a great day to catch little fish! Unfortunately because of the July 4 holiday live bait was sold out everywhere! Our captain did the best he could by bringing in shrimp. However this attracts little fish. Still managed to get a couple legal sized fission to provide our lunch, lol! Thanks for the memories! Next time we will try to have a day further away from the holiday!
Response from the operator: So glad you had a great time, the holidays can make it difficult sometimes, appreciate your understanding. So glad you made the best of the day!

Highlight of our trip to St Augustine
This fishing trip with Captain Dave was definitely the highlight of our trip to St Augustine! I’d never actually fished before and neither had my daughter and by the end he had us casting on our own. My husband and son were in heaven and none of us wanted the charter to end. He took us to several locations, each more exciting than the last. We saw dolphins and sea turtles on the way! The last place we went to was my favorite by the jetty and the pristine white sandy beach of st Augustine. It was so picturesque and the fish were biting like crazy there. Fun times. Captain Dave even recommends a place you can eat the fish you caught. We had a super enjoyable time and I so would love to do it again.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We really appreciate you spending the day with us and look forward to serving you in the future.

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private St Augustine Inshore Fishing Charters: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for St Augustine.
How much does Private St Augustine Inshore Fishing Charters cost?
+
Prices start at $325 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in St Augustine usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private St Augustine Inshore Fishing Charters take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in St Augustine is not rushed.
Is Private St Augustine Inshore Fishing Charters worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in St Augustine, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private St Augustine Inshore Fishing Charters?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private St Augustine Inshore Fishing Charters suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private St Augustine Inshore Fishing Charters?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in St Augustine can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in St Augustine and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private St Augustine Inshore Fishing Charters start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central St Augustine within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in St Augustine?
+
St Augustine is walkable history: Castillo de San Marcos, Spanish quarter walking tours, trolley loops, lighthouse climbs and some of the best-attended ghost tours in the country. Guide storytelling quality is the main variable. On Outty we rank every St Augustine experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Medieval Torture Museum with Ghost Hunting and Tiny Art Gallery, St. Augustine's Wine, Cocktail and Food Experience, Dolphin and Wildlife Adventure of St. Augustine. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit St Augustine?
+
February to May and September to November. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in St Augustine?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
