Be careful with this agent! They LIE!
Be aware! This company will lie! I booked the 3AM PRIVATE Rainbow mountain/red valley ATV tour directly with this company. One the day of the trip, the tour guide with the van showed up 15 minutes late. In addition, the van was full of people and the guide said that we booked the shared tour, not the private tour. I called the company right away to verify it and then they argued that we booked the shared tour. When we ask for the refund, the person refused and said that it is a NO SHOW for us. Then they said they can only refund 50%. Good thing that we have the records of the booking. PLEASE STAY AWAY from this company!!! At the end, I have to file the dispute through the credit card to get my money back.

One ATV broke down, but recovery was fast
We had a small problem on the Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour—one of our ATVs stopped working about 20 minutes into the ride. The guide radioed immediately, and a replacement ATV arrived within 15 minutes. We lost almost no time. The scenery was so incredible that we forgot about the glitch. Bring extra layers because it gets windy at the top. Would book again despite the hiccup.

Beautiful but exhausting for grandparents
We booked the private day trip so we could go at our own pace. That worked well the guide let my parents rest on benches whenever needed. However, even with a private van, Machu Picchu itself involves a lot of walking on uneven stone steps. My parents managed, but they were very tired afterward. The guide was kind and carried their water bottles. Great service, just know your physical limits.

Private tour meant no waiting in long lines
At my age, standing in long ticket lines is painful. That’s why I booked the Machu Picchu Private Day Trip. The guide handled absolutely everything bus tickets, entry passes, even bathroom stops. We walked right past dozens of people waiting. He also spoke slowly and clearly so I could understand his English. The train ride was comfortable. If you have mobility issues or just hate queues, this tour is for you.

Don't hike ride the ATV instead
None of us are serious hikers, but we all wanted to see Rainbow Mountain. This ATV tour was the perfect solution. You ride about 80% of the way up, then walk only 15 minutes to a stunning viewpoint. The machines were in good condition, and helmets were provided. The dusty trails made us look like coal miners afterward, but that’s part of the fun. Our guide even brought coca leaves for altitude sickness. Brilliant.

Private Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour from Cusco: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does Private Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour from Cusco cost?
+
Prices start at $130 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour from Cusco take?
+
Plan for about 15 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is Private Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour from Cusco worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour from Cusco?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour from Cusco suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 15-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour from Cusco?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 15-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Rainbow Mountain ATV Tour from Cusco start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
