You’ll Be In Good Hands!!

The Rainbow Mountain tour was absolutely incredible, and a huge part of that was thanks to our amazing guides, Victor and Lizardo. The altitude was no joke, but they were right there every step of the way—checking in on me, offering encouragement, and even providing oxygen to help me reach the top. Their care and attentiveness made all the difference, and I truly wouldn’t have made it without them. The tour itself was well-organized, the scenery was breathtaking, and the experience was unforgettable. If you’re thinking about doing Rainbow Mountain, I highly recommend this tour—and definitely ask for Victor and Lizardo. They go above and beyond to make sure you feel safe, supported, and inspired to reach that summit.

Hands down one of the private tours we've done

My wife and I are on our honeymoon, travelling throughout Peru for three weeks. We booked this tour back in January of 2024 and have been looking forward to it for many months. First off, there seemed to be some kind of dispute between the local leaders allowing access to Mount Vinikunka so our original tour was put into question. It just so happend that this dispute landed the day before we were set to start. The tour company was forthright with us and offered an immediate solution via the Palcoyo Mountain. Luckily for us, en route with our tour guide Anibal and driver Victor, they recieved confirmation that we could access Mount Vin via another road. Success! Anibal, our guide for the day, was such a pleasure to be around. He is funny, kind, and knowledgeable in his craft. We couldn't have been happier with how the day went. Being a private tour, we felt more secure going with our own guide at our own pace as the altitude is no joke! Again, Anibal was fully prepared, offering extra warm clothing like touques and gloves if needed. He had some spray that we would put on our hands and inhale rapidly to help with the altitude which came in handy. From the moment we were picked up to dropped off, we knew we were in great hands and will always look back on the day we got up to 5,036 m with a smile on our face. This tour is a must for those who want a more personal touch to hiking up to Mount Vinikunka. Having gone through it, we feel it was worth every cent! Thanks Anibal and Victor for an unforgettable experience!

Amazing Rainbow Mountain Experience with Reuben and Remi

We had the most wonderful experience with Ruben and Remi (our driver) for this trip. Yes the pick up time was a little early but so worth it for a tour like this because we were able to get up the mountain and beat a lot of the crowd. I honestly have never seen anything so beautiful in my life!! If you are somewhat in shape, this is a must to do in Peru and I would not recommend and other tour. Reuben was an awesome guide and so informative about the Peruvian/Incan history. We had a blast and felt well taken care of and safe the entire time! We also enjoyed the meals that were provided by the locals and all of thought it was delicious (definitely local food like quinoa and fresh vegetables). It truly was a great time moving our bodies and seeing such a natural wonder… but coming from someone who works out and runs frequently the altitude is real! Definitely recommend lots of layers for this trip. It was very windy yesterday when we went so would also recommend something to cover your face so you aren’t getting dusty in your nasal passages and eyes!

Private Rainbow Mountain Full-Day Tour from Cusco: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Private Rainbow Mountain Full-Day Tour from Cusco cost?

+

Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Rainbow Mountain Full-Day Tour from Cusco take?

+

Plan for about 14 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Private Rainbow Mountain Full-Day Tour from Cusco worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 35 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Rainbow Mountain Full-Day Tour from Cusco?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Rainbow Mountain Full-Day Tour from Cusco suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 14-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Private Rainbow Mountain Full-Day Tour from Cusco?

+

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 14-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Rainbow Mountain Full-Day Tour from Cusco start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
