Timor is knowledgeable about past history and current events. He is clear in his explanations. I appreciate his preparation beforehand to make the sites we visited interesting. He is personable and courteous with clients. I was impressed when he changed parking places after realizing that he was parked in a reserved zone even though it would have been easier and more convenient not to do so. Thank you.

Great day

Timur was great! We had such a good time with him. Very professional, and the right mix of telling us history and letting us roam. A very kind and gentle person that was very patient with a group of seven ladies wanting to shop all the time. He also went above and beyond for us because we wanted to add another stop in Coimbra so he arranged a tuk tuk Tour for us there. Highly recommend spending the day with him

A first-class experience

We used Nomad Steps for two experiences—a private transfer from Lisbon to Porto and a full day in the Douro Valley—and both were outstanding. Timur was our guide for both days, and the entire experience felt first‑class from start to finish. He was professional, on time, easygoing, attentive, and kind. The car was very comfortable for the two of us, and the conversation made the drives fly by. He played music we liked, including fado, and shared insights about Portuguese history, culture and current events in a way that felt genuine and engaging. We originally found Timur through the Airbnb we rented in Porto, and we’re so glad we did. He not only suggested great activities and restaurants but also helped us make reservations, which made everything incredibly easy. Our transfer day included stops in Óbidos and Nazaré, where we visited the surf museum—such a fun surprise. The Douro Valley tour was equally impressive: two excellent winery visits, a tour with a vineyard owner, a shared boat ride on the Douro River, a fantastic lunch, and scenic photo stops along the way. Timur handled every detail, removing all the stress and planning that usually comes with a day trip. Don’t let the cost scare you away. Once you consider everything that’s included—and the level of service—you realize it’s worth every penny.
