Highly recommend
I had a lovely day visiting Patan and Bhaktapur and the drives are scenic going through various parts of Kathmandu and was honoured to share the traditions and culture experiences with my guide Sajini and the local Nepalese people seeing lots of lovely architecture and temples / spiritual places which was nicer that it was during the festival weeks at this time. The guide took her time explaining everything in detail. The was some lovely shopping streets in Bhaktapur and art / pottery exhibits and lots of Street art in Patan. The driver Dipendra was very helpful pointing out things as we drove along of local interest in the city. Came with a nice packed lunch and generally specific information to the area and general tips and information for Nepal was given.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your tour of Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Squares, and that Sajini’s detailed guidance and Dipendra’s helpful driving enhanced your experience. It’s fantastic that you were able to explore the local architecture, culture, and vibrant streets during the festival period, and that the packed lunch and insights added to your day. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back to Nepal for more memorable adventures! Warm regards, Luxury Holidays Nepal Team

Amazing tour with Asmita!
Asmita was an amazing tour guide! Very communicative beforehand about what to expect, and great at sharing details of Bhaktapur during the tour. She was curious about me as well, and answered all of my random questions about different topics. As a solo female traveler, I was very excited and grateful to have a female guide. She is very knowledgeable and I only wish I could do another tour with her while I am in Nepal! You’ll be lucky to have Asmita as your guide and Amik as your driver!

Great Customer Service
Ram went above and beyond to arrange a trip to Bhaktapur for myself and my girlfriend. We were delayed getting to Kathmandu and only contacted him the night before, but he was able to arrange a driver at the last minute, it was well organized, on time, and he was very communicative throughout. He clearly values customer service and cares about providing a great experience for visitors to Nepal!

We're thrilled to hear that Ram was able to make your trip to Bhaktapur happen, even with the last-minute arrangements. We always strive to provide excellent customer service, and it's great to know that Ram’s efforts made a positive impact on your experience. We truly appreciate your feedback and are so glad you enjoyed the tour. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we look forward to welcoming you both again in the future. Thank you again for choosing us! Safe travels! Regards Luxury Holidays Team

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Patan Durbar & Bhaktapur Durbar Square Tour with Lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.
How much does Private Patan Durbar & Bhaktapur Durbar Square Tour with Lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Patan Durbar & Bhaktapur Durbar Square Tour with Lunch take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.
Is Private Patan Durbar & Bhaktapur Durbar Square Tour with Lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Patan Durbar & Bhaktapur Durbar Square Tour with Lunch?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Patan Durbar & Bhaktapur Durbar Square Tour with Lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Private Patan Durbar & Bhaktapur Durbar Square Tour with Lunch?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Patan Durbar & Bhaktapur Durbar Square Tour with Lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?
+
On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Classic Everest Base Camp Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kathmandu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
