    Trip to the Alvarenga Bridge

Carlos did a great job and was flexible to our needs. He is knowledgeable and made the experience great. He stopped to pick up some supplies that we needed and even went back to a stop to see if he could find my daughter’s lost headphones. And he found it!!! He didn’t need to go back and we considered it lost but he took us back to get it. What a great person to have as a guide, his friendly attitude made our trip great. The van was nice too. Overall we are happy to have booked with him.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Mr. Oscar for your kind words and thoughtful review! We're thrilled to hear that Carlos went above and beyond to make your experience memorable. His dedication and flexibility truly reflect the level of care we strive to provide. We’re glad he could find your daughter’s headphones and that his friendly attitude added to your trip’s enjoyment. It’s wonderful to know you were comfortable in the van and happy with your booking. We hope to welcome you back for more great experiences in the future! Ana

    Good hike!

Delfina was great as our guide and we had a good time on this trip. She gave us excellent restaurant recommendations for lunch for vegetarian and on the way back stopped for pasta da nata before we came back to our hotel.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your fantastic review! We're delighted to hear that Delfina made your trip enjoyable and that her restaurant recommendations and stop for pasteis de nata added to your experience. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with her. We hope you had a wonderful time in Porto and look forward to seeing you again on your next visit!

Beautiful setting - not to be missed!!

This was a wonderful day in Arouca! Our tour guide, Ricardo, was so friendly and knowledgeable. We started our day with a hike along the Passadicos do Paiva, followed by the Arouca suspension bridge. After our 7k hike, we had lunch at a local restaurant and finished the day at the monastery in Arouca. The boardwalk along the Paiva River was absolutely beautiful. There are spots where you can stop and swim, and if we were to come back, we would take advantage. The suspension bridge is breathtaking. Lunch was delicious, and the monastery was an unexpected surprise. It is full of beautiful antiquities and art, some dating back to the 14th century. For those thinking about booking this, don’t hesitate. We wound up hiking the boardwalk in the direction that resulted in 550 steps up at the end. I would recommend making sure you confirm with your tour guide ahead of time which direction you would prefer. If you start at the bridge there is a short boardwalk up, but you would then take the 550 steps down instead of up. We were went with three teenagers and they all loved the day - even the monastery. A great day!! You will not be disappointed!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Diane for taking the time to leave us a rating. Your feedback helps us to improve service for everyone and I personally will make sure that next time we will discuss with customers which direction they would prefer! Ana

    Amazing experience

What a beautiful experience. This tour provided amazing views of nature while hiking a nice path, an opportunity to see an engineering wonder, visit a historic convent, and to try some great food. Carlos was a great tour guide who took care of all of our needs.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Grisel for this 5-star review. We really appreciate you being a customer and helping to share the word about us. We’re here for you anytime. We will share this with Carlos to let him know to keep up the amazing work.

Arouca 516 Bridge, Passadiços do Paiva and surrounding areas

We had a wonderful day tour of Arouca region. Carlos our guide, picked us at our hotel in Porto. We started off with the Arouca 516 bridge crossing on a beautiful morning and made our way through the Paiva walkway alongside the river Paiva to Vau. Thereafter we went for a lunch at the village of Alvarenga, the beef tasted exquisite. After lunch , Carlos drove us around the surrounding area and we headed to Arouca where we had a tea break. We then headed back to Porto city where the tour concludes. There are a lot of things to do, and I recommend this tour company. Carlos is very accommodating and you can discuss routes and interests with him to tailor to your preference. An excellent and enjoyable day - we wish we had more time. Thank you very much!

Response from the operator: We are incredibly grateful that you took the time out to leave us a 5-Star review, Mr. Lew. On behalf us all of us at Endless Weekend Tours, I would like to thank you for sharing this great review about your tour! We are thrilled that you enjoyed your experience.

Private Paiva Walkways and 516 Arouca Bridge Day Trip from Porto: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Porto.

How much does Private Paiva Walkways and 516 Arouca Bridge Day Trip from Porto cost?

    +

Prices start at $72 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Porto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Paiva Walkways and 516 Arouca Bridge Day Trip from Porto take?

    +

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Porto is not rushed.

Is Private Paiva Walkways and 516 Arouca Bridge Day Trip from Porto worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Porto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Paiva Walkways and 516 Arouca Bridge Day Trip from Porto?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Paiva Walkways and 516 Arouca Bridge Day Trip from Porto suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Paiva Walkways and 516 Arouca Bridge Day Trip from Porto?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Paiva Walkways and 516 Arouca Bridge Day Trip from Porto start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Porto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Porto?

    +

On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Porto's #1 Walking Tour, Small Group Geres National Park Full Day with picnic from Porto. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Porto?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Porto?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
