Good food & customizable Tour
Our guide Mayinka was took us to some great places and even showed us a bit of the city. The cheese shop was the best cheese I have ever tasted. She even took pictures of us at every stop which she sent to us after the tour which was a nice touch. The only complaint we had was the tour was supposed to start at 6:00pm but she asked if we could meet 1 hour earlier because many smaller shops and the Time Out market close early which we couldn't do so just wondering why the tour is at that time if things will be closing?? Also we went to 1 restaurant that was sold out of food before we got there so had to improvise to go somewhere else but Mayinka found us a good substitute at the market. She was able to customize the tour to what we wanted to do and see she that was nice too. Would definitely recommend this tour!
Response from the operator: We’re so glad you enjoyed the personalized experience, especially the delicious cheese stop, thoughtful photos, and flexibility when plans needed to change. It’s wonderful to hear you’d still highly recommend the experience. We also really appreciate your feedback about the evening start time and availability of some food stops. This is helpful for us as we continue improving the experience and ensuring the timing works as smoothly as possible for future guests.

Best Porto food tour with Mayinka
Mayinka was our Tour Guide for this personalized tour and she was fantastic. She took us to some of her favorite restaurants and we got to have some traditional Portuguese specialties! We were able to order off the menus and pick what we wanted to try rather than a standardized food tour. She also gave us historical information on the buildings and we toured the market while enjoying some wine. We are so happy we did this tour with Mayinka. It was the highlight of our time in Porto.
Response from the operator: We’re so glad your time in Porto became such a memorable highlight of your trip! It’s wonderful to hear how personalized the experience felt, from choosing your own dishes to discovering local history and enjoying the market atmosphere together — thank you for sharing this lovely feedback.

Mayinka’s food tour rocks!
Mayinka was our tour guide and she was awesome. I can’t recommend this food tour enough-every location was thoughtfully chosen, show casing the best of Porto. However, what elevated the experience was the storytelling and learning the history, culture of Porto. Myinka was outstanding and incredibly knowledgeable. We had a vegetarian in our group and she did a fabulous job making sure that he was accommodated and even recommended vegetarian restaurants for us to try. If you are visiting Porto and are wanting to try a food tour I would highly recommend Mayinka. Just remember to come hungry
Response from the operator: Mayinka will be delighted to read your kind words. Thank you for your recommendation, and we would be very happy to welcome you again on another experience in the future, hopefully just as delicious and memorable.

Good your!
Our family had a great time on this tour. We had many good local dishes we would not have tried otherwise. We learned some of the history and good points about the city.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts! We're delighted that your family had a great time and enjoyed trying local dishes you might not have discovered otherwise. It’s wonderful that you also appreciated the history and highlights of the city—making memories and learning along the way is exactly what we aim for. We truly appreciate your feedback, and we hope to welcome you on another experience in the future!

100% worth it…
Hannah was absolutely amazing! I felt like I was walking around with an old friend. She took me to places that had amazing bites and also informed me about the city as we walked. I couldn’t have asked for more. She even let me practice my horrible Portuguese without laughing in my face.
Response from the operator: We’re thrilled to hear that Hannah made you feel so comfortable and guided you through the city like an old friend. It sounds like you had a delicious and insightful tour, and we’re glad she made it enjoyable—even with a little Portuguese practice! We’ll be sure to share your kind words with her.

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private & Personalized Food Tour of Porto with a Local Guide: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Porto.
How much does Private & Personalized Food Tour of Porto with a Local Guide cost?
+
Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Porto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private & Personalized Food Tour of Porto with a Local Guide take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Porto is not rushed.
Is Private & Personalized Food Tour of Porto with a Local Guide worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Porto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private & Personalized Food Tour of Porto with a Local Guide?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private & Personalized Food Tour of Porto with a Local Guide suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private & Personalized Food Tour of Porto with a Local Guide?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private & Personalized Food Tour of Porto with a Local Guide start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Porto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Porto?
+
On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Porto's #1 Walking Tour, Small Group Geres National Park Full Day with picnic from Porto. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Porto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Porto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
