    Ritual

I really loved this experience. It was my first time doing the sweat thing with the stones, and it was good. I felt lighter after the ritual.

Worth Trying - won’t be disappointed.

Exceeded my expectations!!! We did the shared group experience. The groups were divided by language; the English-speaking group was not big so it made it easy to hear all the instructions. The actual temazcal was amazing. Yes, it was hot/steamy which I was surprised I was able to endure it (~30 min in the actual temazcal) and I’m not fit by no means. It’s an experience worth trying.

    Disappointing

I was so excited about this experience but I feel like I've been sold something totally unauthentic. First, the pick-up was at a 30-min walk from my hotel and not in front of it and the driver was +30min late. So I started it waiting alone in the dark on a parking lot. No apologies from the guide when he finally arrived. Then we got lost on our way to picking up 2 other people. We arrived at the ceremony with more than 1,5 hour late. Everybody was waiting for us and was very tense which is not the best way to start this king of ceremony. We were more than 40 personas which is absolutely too many. Nothing felt authentic. Because of such a big group, there were no cohesion, no good vibes nor energy. My guide was absolutely useless, i didn't see nor hear from here. The other guide were just here to translate but seemed to discover this ceremony for the first time. Only one woman, the "main" guide knew about the Temazcal because she had done +300 already and was angry and yelling at us the whole way. To put it in a nutshell, I have just lost 120 pounds for which I demand a Payback.

Response from the operator: Dear Mathilde, Thanks for sharing your comments, for us are very important. I inform you that delay was due where your was picked up there are constructions of Mayan train, this generates that sometimes there are delays as it affects pick up ser vices, this is out of our control. Our operations manager was with you at all times assisting you and leted us know that he kept you informed about delay. at temazcal service, being a shared and group service, this is the way this kind of service is operated, with a professional service in order client has a great experience. We hope you give us the opportunity to serve you again, in the future when you return to our destination.

Shaman blessing & steam house fantastic

The Shaman experience was fantastic especially the steam house. Would really recommend it, however, next time I will do a private or small group. The group was too large and multi translated (english, italian, french). This forced the tour guides to summarize to keep within time limits. We missed so much information because it was rushed. Also, tour guides did not explain about location of life jackets when sending us to the cenote - and there was not safety information about depth, areas to swim in.

Response from the operator: Dear Lynda It is gratifying to know that you were able to experience the temazcal service, which is a unique experience and that you will be able to share its testimony with your friends! As i a shared service , has that modality of being in several languages, for your next visit we will be happy to provide you with a private service, in which you will have the opportunity to have the service just for you and you will be able to enjoy this activity even more. . I appreciate your comments, this helps us to improve the service and offer a complete experience to you. We look forward to your next visit to our beautiful destination and to serving you. Sincerely

    Horrible experience

We booked for a specific time and for them to pick us up and they changed the time. We waited for someone to pick us up and no one showed up. We didn’t get fully refunded for their mistake so still paid for not even experiencing the session.

Response from the operator: The product mentions that the time of pick up between 15.00 pm – 18.00 pm and depends on the location of your hotel. And you were explained that from Cancun pick up at 15.00 pm due to distance to Temazcal (2hrs and 30 min), and your hotel is located 20 min from Temazcal that’s why pick up was later. Also, you forgot mentioned that The tour was cancelled by you 6 hrs before the experience, and you asked full refund. Due to politic of cancelation we had to charge the full penalty. But we decided to help you and refund 50% of payment, that also wasn’t mentioned in the review.

How much does Private or Shared Mayan Temazcal Ritual from Tulum cost?

    +

Prices start at $155 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tulum usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private or Shared Mayan Temazcal Ritual from Tulum take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tulum is not rushed.

Is Private or Shared Mayan Temazcal Ritual from Tulum worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 40 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Tulum, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private or Shared Mayan Temazcal Ritual from Tulum?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Private or Shared Mayan Temazcal Ritual from Tulum suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private or Shared Mayan Temazcal Ritual from Tulum?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tulum can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tulum and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Tulum?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tulum experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tulum Ruins, Turtles in Akumal and Cenote tour, Tulum Guided Tour, Magical Cenote, Lagoon Snorkeling and Beachside Lunch, Chichén Itzá, Cenote and Valladolid with Lunch and transportation. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tulum?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tulum?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
