    The unforgettable cooking experience

Cooking with Paula is learning from your friend that has been hiding recipes from you. So much to learn from her. We never met this woman, but somehow we connected on so many different subjects and life in general. She has taught us a lot and also smarter ways to do things in the kitchen. She made cooking enjoyable. Less of a task and more of an enjoyment with the family. We brought our son with us and she was so kind that even our 9 month old bonded with her. Thank you so much for everything you have taught us. I can't wait to return home and introduce these new recipes to our friends and family. -Best regards The Hornbeak-Bokos.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this beautiful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you had such a wonderful time with Sundari in Chennai. It’s especially lovely to know that she made your 9-year-old feel included and turned the cooking class into such a fun experience for the whole family. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with Sundari. We’re delighted that you enjoyed the food, conversations, and warm hospitality, and we hope to welcome you back for another memorable culinary experience in the future!

    Wonderful cooking experience

Paula met us promptly and off we went to the market. Back at her home we began the lesson and cooking. She is very "hands on" for us - just advisory. The menu was well planned and the food was excellent, if I do say so myself :) It was just the two of us and Paula - very comfortable. Highly recommend!

    Cooking class with Paula

I really enjoyed my day with Paula, seeing the streets of Almada (specifically Cacilhas) and spending time cooking local dishes. It was great to learn about the history of the town and its evolution over the years she has lived there. Visiting a local food market, supermarket and butcher was a great way to become familiar with the ingredients for the dishes made and experience the place like a local! The day was filled with good conversation, useful kitchen hacks and flavoursome dishes. I cannot thank Paula enough for her hospitality and look forward to testing the dishes and using the tricks she taught me back home!

Private Lisbon Market Tour & Portuguese Cooking Class with Paula: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.

How much does Private Lisbon Market Tour & Portuguese Cooking Class with Paula cost?

    +

Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Lisbon Market Tour & Portuguese Cooking Class with Paula take?

    +

Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.

Is Private Lisbon Market Tour & Portuguese Cooking Class with Paula worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 110 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Lisbon Market Tour & Portuguese Cooking Class with Paula?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Lisbon Market Tour & Portuguese Cooking Class with Paula suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Lisbon Market Tour & Portuguese Cooking Class with Paula?

    +

Around 39 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Lisbon Market Tour & Portuguese Cooking Class with Paula start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
