will try again sometime
the tour was canceled by the operator and refunded immediately. seems there was a conflict with viator scheduling. but appeared to be a very desirable and customizable option
via Viator
Tour guide Nidia appeared to try to scam us - Viator saved the day.
Our trip was cancelled via text from the tour guide Nidia, an hour before departure time due to forest fires. Nidia did not respond to our questions regarding the short cancellation notice nor the alternatives she’d included, so we went to Viator shared her text and requested a refund, which Viator did immediately. Once we got the refund, Nidia suddenly reached out again, saying the fire ban was lifted and we could do the tour the following day. She added she would send us a link with a discount to rebook for our trouble. We followed the link, the discount was a minimal $10, and then realized we had to pay outside of Viator in order to get the “discount”. We texted Nidia that we were uncomfortable paying outside of Viator and would pay the full amount through Viator. She said that was fine. We rebooked the tour through Viator, she responded that she’d gotten the booking and we were all set. The next morning while we were eating breakfast, prepared for the tour, I noticed we’d gotten another early morning text saying the fire bans were back and the tour was cancelled. We felt 100% sure Nidia was trying to scam us. Fires were happening in Portugal’s National Park at that time, a tour guide for a prior tour altered our itinerary due to the fires, but still provided a tour. Therefore it shouldn’t have been last minute news to Nidia and the fire status likely did not change two times in less than 24 hours. It seemed Nidia was trying to get us to pay through a link where we couldn’t get our money back, that she knew the national park was closed, and she never planned to provide the tour. THANK YOU very much to Viator who again refunded our money immediately. Nadia’s behavior seemed like she took advantage of the fires in Portugal to attempt to run a scam.
Response from the operator: Dear Ava, I have read your review and I am very concerned because it contains several statements that are factually incorrect. First, the refund was not issued by Viator. I personally approved and processed the refund immediately. Therefore, stating that Viator refunded you “immediately” is simply not accurate. Second, regarding the discount I offered after the fire restrictions were temporarily lifted, you have misunderstood my intention. I was not asking you to pay outside Viator in order to obtain money from you. Quite the opposite. I was offering to contribute financially by giving you an additional discount as a gesture of goodwill after the inconvenience caused by the wildfires. Finally, your statement that you were “100% sure” I was trying to scam you is an extremely serious accusation. It is completely false, has no factual basis and is damaging to my professional reputation after years of operating with hundreds of genuine five-star reviews. The cancellations were caused solely by the rapidly changing wildfire restrictions in Portugal. These events were widely reported and can easily be verified through official news sources. I respectfully ask that you either remove or amend your review so that it accurately reflects the facts. If the false allegation that I attempted to scam you remains published, I will have no alternative but to seek legal advice regarding these defamatory statements and the damage they have caused to my business. I sincerely hope we can resolve this matter amicably. Kind regards, Nídia Almeida

Love Sesimbra!
Sesimbra is now one of my favorite places in the world! It's so beautiful! Our guide Tiago made our trip so enjoyable. We visited the beaches and had a beautiful oceanside lunch. Tiago joined us, made great food recommendations and even taught my adult son to clean the sardines he ordered! I highly recommend!

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Lisbon Coastal Tour – Arrábida, Sesimbra and Beach Picnic: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Private Lisbon Coastal Tour – Arrábida, Sesimbra and Beach Picnic cost?
+
Prices start at $109 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Lisbon Coastal Tour – Arrábida, Sesimbra and Beach Picnic take?
+
Plan for about 7.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Private Lisbon Coastal Tour – Arrábida, Sesimbra and Beach Picnic worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 54 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Lisbon Coastal Tour – Arrábida, Sesimbra and Beach Picnic?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Lisbon Coastal Tour – Arrábida, Sesimbra and Beach Picnic suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Lisbon Coastal Tour – Arrábida, Sesimbra and Beach Picnic?
+
Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 7.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Lisbon Coastal Tour – Arrábida, Sesimbra and Beach Picnic start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
