What you'll see and do
Heping Island GeoPark
Meet your tour guide and driver at the hotel lobby, and then head off to Keelung City. Just sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery from the windows during the 60-min drive to your first stop, Heping Island Park. Heping Island Park is a tourist spot that has been very popular in recent years, and has become an iconic landmark of Keelung. The island preserves many historic remains such as Dutch Cave, Sheliao East Fort, and the relics of the Ama diver culture, Yuanshan Culture, Iron Age, etc, witnessing different eras passing by. The unique rock formations of coastal erosion are also the unmissable highlights in Heping Island, such as the wave-cut platform, the mushroom rocks, the chessboard rock, and many more, as if the sculpture works by the God. Besides, the diversified natural environment results in abundance of species and ecosystem diversity, which are worth discovering.

Zhengbin Fishing Port
The next stop is the most Instagrammable spot in Keelung—Zhengbin Fishing Harbor, which is only a 20-min drive from Heping Island Park. This small fishing harbor goes viral on the Internet because of a row of the colorful houses along the shore, attracting countless social media influencer, bloggers and media to visit. In fact, it was once a prosperous fishing harbor during Japanese colonization, but declined as time goes by. However, the tranquil harbor never loses its charm. The white fishing boats lined along the dock, the brightly painted houses and the water reflection and the sea sparkling in the sunlight, creating a picturesque scene, as if you are in Burano Island.

Agenna Shipyard Relics
Agenna Shipyard Relics is just nearby, an abandoned shipyard built during Japanese colonization. If you look from afar, it looks like a modern industrial architecture. Its exposed reinforced concrete conveys a sense of decadence through the lens, making this place become a famous spot for photography. The Hollywood actor, Chris Evans, best known for playing “Captain America”, has been there to film a commercial. After the morning tour, enjoy a special indigenous meal at Agenna Aboriginal Restaurant in Keelung City Indigenous Cultural Hall, giving you an opportunity to know about the aboriginal people in Keelung.
85 minutes here
After lunch, visit the mysterious Keelung Islet by boat. On the way to Keelung Islet, you can clearly see an ocean current called “Keelung Sill”. Keelung Islet is a volcanic island surrounded by towering cliffs, and there is barely any plain on it. After landing on the islet, there is a vast platform, where you can slowly climb to the top of the islet along the trail. Most of the time you have to walk uphill along the way, so you must pay attention to your physical condition and drink more water to prevent dehydration. After you reach the top of the islet, the snow-white Keelung Lighthouse and the vast blue ocean is right before your eyes, enjoying the feeling of being surrounded by the endless ocean. Here you can also take a look at the main island Taiwan from afar, appreciating Taiwan from a different angle. After that, you will head back to downtown Taipei around 17:30 and arrive in your hotel around 19:00.

+

How far in advance should I book Private Keelung Island and Heping Island Park Day Tour from Taipei?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Taipei can sell out a month out. What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Taipei and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Taipei?
+
On Outty we rank every Taipei experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Private Custom Taipei City Tour, Private Tour to Jiufen, Yehliu Geopark, and Pingxi, Full-Day Private Northern Taiwan Tour from Taipei with Pickup. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Taipei?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Taipei?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
