About this experience
The tour starts with pick-up from your accommodation in Reykjavik with our comfortable luxury jeep. The first stop of our tour is Skógafoss, a mighty waterfall visible from the road. On a sunny day, both waterfalls will be made even more beautiful by splendid rainbows. Our next stop is Sólheimajökull Glacier Tongue, one of Iceland's most accessible glaciers, located just off the main road. Here, a paved path leads you to the edge of the glacier, where you can admire its fascinating shapes and colors. We will then visit the cliffs of Dyrhólaey and Reynisfjara, the famous black sand beach with basalt columns and caves. Vík comes next, this charming fishing village on the coast, famous for its volcanic beaches and sea stacks. Our last stop of the day is Seljalandsfoss, a popular waterfall that you can walk behind. Make sure you bring a raincoat as you will get wet!

Winter Wonderland in Iceland
The scenery in Iceland is nothing short of magical. Regrettably, late season snow storms made it a challenge/adventure. Thankfully our driver guide was Orvar. Orvar knows everyone on the island so he always found workarounds to ensure we were seeing all the things that were important to us. His storytelling of Iceland’s history made it all come alive for us. Having a personal driver who takes the time to get to know you really takes a good trip to an entirely different level. Upon arriving back in Reykjavík, we learned our Northern Lights cruise (booked with another company) was cancelled due to bad weather. Orvar knew seeing the NLs was something we really wanted to see so he picked us up and we went Northern Lights hunting. This level of customer engagement and service is in a class by itself. I would highly recommend this company as well as renting your outdoor gear from Iceland Covers. Amazon is not going to provide you with the necessary clothing if there is snow and high winds.

If you want to see and experience the real Iceland book Iceland Premium Tours
We had the best experience with Örvar at Iceland Premium Tours! We booked 2 private tours over 2 days - the Golden Circle and South Island. We got to see and experience some extra things that we wouldn't have if we had taken a large bus tour, We were also able to tailor the tours to our own preferences. It was the best decision we could have made! Not only did we see some of the most incredible sights of Iceland we also learnt so much about the history and culture of Icelandic people. Örvar made us comfortable and welcome from the first moment. We would recommend Iceland Premium Tours to anyone visiting Iceland, in fact we are planning our next trip back and will be contacting them for the Iceland Ring Road tour in the summer.

Beautiful tour
The vehicle used was not what I expected It was changed last minute without notifying the customer. For 10 hours tour and no water provided. Tour guide constantly coughed in the vehicle.

Amazing tour with Orvar. Highly recommend.
We would highly recommend Iceland Premium Tours. Orvar was a wonderful guide who is very knowledgeable and accommodating. He shared many great stories and information throughout the entire tour. Orvar was contentious about our needs and made sure we were comfortable. We only had one day in Reykjavik and Orvar went above and beyond to make sure we saw as much possible in the limited time we had there. We will definitely call him again for future visits.
Response from the operator: Hello Thank you for your wonderful review. With friends like you to show and tell about Iceland I feel privileged and enjoyed very much the tour with you. Stay safe and healthy and see you again in Iceland.

Orvar Sugurdsson - The best Iceland has to offer.
We had 9 days in Iceland, our trip started by meeting Orvar at the airport. He was courteous and patient while we got our things (international flight). From there, he took us to breakfast and showed us around Iceland on the way. By the end of the trip, Mr. Sigurdsson was family. I would recommend Iceland Premium Tours to anyone. Pay to have a dedicated driver who shows you around the country. Our experience with Orvar was overwhelmingly positive, I have gone out of my way to recommend family and friends to travel to Iceland with Iceland Premium Tours. If you're going to Iceland, this company is the only way to do it, I promise you will have the experience of your life.
Response from the operator: Hello ... I thank you for the great review but I always remember that its my pleasure to see that you are enjoying the country and are happy ... You make the trip wonderful My best Orvar

Why this scores 54
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Jeep Tour - Premium South Coast and Sólheimajökull Glacier: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.
How much does Private Jeep Tour - Premium South Coast and Sólheimajökull Glacier cost?
+
Prices start at $1650 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Jeep Tour - Premium South Coast and Sólheimajökull Glacier take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.
Is Private Jeep Tour - Premium South Coast and Sólheimajökull Glacier worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Jeep Tour - Premium South Coast and Sólheimajökull Glacier?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Jeep Tour - Premium South Coast and Sólheimajökull Glacier suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Jeep Tour - Premium South Coast and Sólheimajökull Glacier?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Jeep Tour - Premium South Coast and Sólheimajökull Glacier start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?
+
On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Reykjavik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
