    The best 50th ever!

I travelled to Iceland solo for my 50th and asked Hidden Iceland to help me shape the trip. They absolutely delivered. Anna handled my booking with the patience of a saint. I think I revised the itinerary about twelve times, a smattering of different ideas, tweaks, “what if we just” moments and every single change was met with calm, thoughtful guidance. Nothing felt like a hassle. It felt collaborative. Teitur my guide, was an absolute gem. Deeply knowledgeable and endlessly accommodating, including when the wind nearly froze my fingers off! He has that rare ability to make even the most dramatic landscapes feel personal. Not performative. Just real. That, and finding new nooks and crannies in the glacier that literally no one will see tomorrow! Part of this trip was a reset for me. Getting back to nature, standing in landscapes that remind you how small and lucky you are, and reconnecting with why I work in sustainability in the first place. Iceland does that to you. The rawness, the geology, the scale, it recalibrates something fundamental. And the food. How is Icelandic cuisine not globally famous? Creative, delicious, unexpected. Every meal was exceptional. If you want Iceland done intelligently, personally, and without any tourist fluff, Hidden Iceland is the way to do it. Thank you to Anna, Teitur, the amazing driver and the whole team. You made a milestone birthday feel expansive, grounded and unforgettable. (and yep - the Northern Lights - twice!)

Response from the operator: Thank you for the best review ever, Olivia. What a great way to celebrate your 50th birthday too! What a brilliant idea and it sounds like Anna worked her magic in creating something truly personal. Wonderful to hear that you got on so well with Teitur too. He is such an incredible guide. He adds such a rare and authentic local perspective. We're glad you had such a great time and got to see the Northern Lights twice!!! We look forward to having you back again one day.

    Glacier Bay Zodiac

The zodiac boat through glacier bay was awesome. Some ice calving witnessed. Highly recommend this activity followed by a trip to Diamond Beach.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the great review! It sounds like the zodiac boat tour was the highlight of your trip. Thank you for sharing.

Memorable 3 day trip from Reykjavik

We were a group of 12 family members and friends who wanted to explore the south coast highlights of Iceland before boarding a cruise to Southampton. I Read some great reviews about Hidden Iceland. Aaron replied my email promptly. He listened to what our needs were. He was able to accommodate us and make slight changes to the itinerary and hotel stays to make it practical for us. We did the Golden Circle tour with the farmhouse tour on day 1 and the above mentioned tour on day 2 and 3. The zodiac boat tour that he recommended was the highlight of our tour. Aaron is patient , courteous and professional and our trip wouldn’t have been so memorable without his advice. Thank you Aaron. And I must say that if Aaron was not available, his team members promptly replied to the emails and answered our questions- so thank you to the full team. We stayed at Reykjavik residence apartment hotel and it was a perfect family style accomodation for us. The vehicle that came to pickup was roomy , clean, modern with charging points, and that made our long drives really comfortable. Our tour guide/driver was Prokop. He was very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. We stayed at hotel VOS and Lilja guesthouse and both were comfortable. The weather turned out to be perfect and we got lucky enough to see the northern lights also. The 3 day tour that we did with them was the highlight of our 16 day trip and the most memorable nature experiences of our lives. Thank you to the Hodden Iceland team For making it possible for us.

Response from the operator: Wow, what a memorable review to go alongside your memorable trip. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us and of course for trusting us with your 12 person trip. It really sounds like Aaron, and the whole team, did a wonderful job. Really happy to read that you liked every aspect and even happier to read that you managed to find the Northern Lights along the way too. Thank you for joining us. Come back any time.

2 unforgettable days on the Iceland's South Coast

Our family of four (54, 52, 25, 23) started our Iceland vacation with the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon 2-day tour with our guide Levi. The tour van was the nicest van we had in Iceland. The seats were very comfortable, each seat had a USB charging port, and there was strong Wifi. Levi was very knowledgeable and gave us a lot of information about Iceland along the way including former earthquakes, floods, glaciers, volcanoes, and much more. The weather for our 2nd day wasn't looking good so Levi quickly pivoted to pack in as much as possible in day 1. I love using local guides because they are a wealth of information, know the best places to stop for bathroom breaks, and pick the best places to eat too. Hidden Iceland arranged our overnight at Lilja Guesthouse which was quite nice. It was simple but the beds were very comfortable, pretty setting, and great restaurant. We had a fabulous dinner and great breakfast the following morning as well. We had an amazing time.

Response from the operator: Hi Ginger, Thank you so much for taking the time to review our glacier lagoon tour and of course the knowledgeable Levi (and our custom fitted vehicles). It's really great to hear that the poor weather on day 2 didn't dampen your experience. It sounds like Levi did a great job to move things around. Thank you again for joining us.

    Made amazing memories

Amazing experience! 11/10 recommend. It’s very productive and you get the most bang for your buck. The guesthouse is very nice and we were lucky to see a bit of the northern lights. The glacier hike was amazing! So many great photos and memories made. Our guide has such good humour and informed us about the sights in a way that was rasy to remember and digest. :)

Response from the operator: I smiled when I saw the 11/10. That is the exact level of service we are aiming ofr each time. So glad that you enjoyed the trip and your guide so much. Thank you for trusting us with your trip to Iceland.

Private Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon 2 Day Tour & Glacier Hike: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.

How much does Private Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon 2 Day Tour & Glacier Hike cost?

    +

Prices start at $7240 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon 2 Day Tour & Glacier Hike take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.

Is Private Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon 2 Day Tour & Glacier Hike worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 160 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon 2 Day Tour & Glacier Hike?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Private Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon 2 Day Tour & Glacier Hike suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon 2 Day Tour & Glacier Hike?

    +

Around 56 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon 2 Day Tour & Glacier Hike start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
