Truly Incredible
We booked the south coast and Katla ice cave for 6 people with Julian. He was the best host and took us to the most incredible spots. We were super lucky with the weather being sunny all day and giving us even better visibility. I would recommend Julian to anyone wanting to explore Iceland’s south coast! This will forever be one of our favorite days on the island.

Amazing ice cave tour with exceptional guide
Had a wonderful day and amazing guide. His communication prior to was great! He worked with us on pickup and made our day a memory of a lifetime. Off roading was so much fun and he is a skilled guide with exceptional driving. 6 adults were comfortable in the landcruiser, so much so a few took cat naps in between locations. Will be booking again when we return for another of his excursions.

Incredible!
Amazing! I can't recommend Julian and Arctic Exped highly enough. Our family of three (two adults and a toddler) took a private Katla Ice Cave and South Coast tour and it was one of the highlights of our entire Iceland trip. Julian was an outstanding guide: knowledgeable, flexible, patient, and genuinely great with our daughter. Traveling with a toddler can be unpredictable, but he made the day feel easy and stress-free while helping us experience some of Iceland's most incredible sights. Julian took absolutely wonderful photos of our family throughout the day—many of our favorite pictures from the whole trip came from this tour. Five stars isn't enough. Thank you Julian!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much! Had a fantastic time getting to know you guys and your funny little girl! Thanks for the advice on the little audiobook!

The BEST way to experience Iceland!
We had a 3-day private tour with Julian and our time with him was outstanding. He customized the trip to fit our interests and shared his historical knowledge and experiences with us to enhance our trip. The private transportation was very comfortable. He was professional yet personable. As a special treat for our 30th anniversary, he surprised us with champagne in a private ice cave tour. I highly recommend Arctic Exped and we will definitely use them again for future trips.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the kind review! I'm happy you enjoyed the ice cave bubbles!

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Katla Ice cave and South Coast with photos: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.
How much does Private Katla Ice cave and South Coast with photos cost?
+
Prices start at $2500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Katla Ice cave and South Coast with photos take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.
Is Private Katla Ice cave and South Coast with photos worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Katla Ice cave and South Coast with photos?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Katla Ice cave and South Coast with photos suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Katla Ice cave and South Coast with photos?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Katla Ice cave and South Coast with photos start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?
+
On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Reykjavik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
