Best Guide in Istanbul
We spent a really wonderful afternoon in Istanbul with our guide Renan. As we had been to Istanbul before we asked to concentrate on the bazaar. Renan took us to great shops and negotiated super prices. We got to see everything we wanted and learned a lot about the city and country. Renan was a kind, knowledgeable and fun guide and her driver was amazing in the traffic around the bazaar and in the city. If we go back to Istanbul, she is the only guide we will use.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind and generous review! We are delighted to hear that you had such a wonderful afternoon in Istanbul with Renan. We will definitely share your lovely comments with her. It was a pleasure to be part of your Istanbul experience, and we would be very happy to welcome you again whenever you return to Istanbul.

Had a kind and educated tour guide
Renan met us as scheduled. We travel with our handicapped daughter and she was always assisting her. Her kind heart was evident throughout our trip. She showed us through a mosque and then took us to the Grand Bazaar. She gave us numerous stories and facts as we travelled. In fact, often there was so much, that we didn’t get to ask some questions that we wanted to ask. She was a highly educated tour guide. Although she was Muslim, she was very tolerant and respectful to the fact that we were Christians. One disappointment that we had was that we didn’t get to see the interior of the Blue Mosque or the Hagia Sophia. It was offered at the end of the trip but we were tired by then and just wanted to get back to the ship. She was a kind, thoughtful tour guide for our first time in Istanbul.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind feedback. We are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with Renan and appreciated her care, knowledge, and support throughout the tour. We also appreciate your comments regarding the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, and we completely understand after a long day of touring. Thank you again for choosing us for your first visit to Istanbul. We hope to welcome you again in the future

Our guide was very...
Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative regarding the historic sights we saw. We were a bit disappointed with the Grand Bazaar part of the tour which was visiting several “clone” and “super clone” handbag and watch shops - despite telling the guide we were not interested in this. When it was evident we weren’t going to purchase the Grand Bazaar experience was over. We would have liked to be shown through more of the Bazaar with less pressure to buy.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the historical part of the tour and found your guide informative. We’re sorry the Grand Bazaar visit did not meet your expectations and felt too focused on specific shops. Your comments are noted, and we will address this to ensure a more balanced and enjoyable experience in the future. We appreciate your review and hope to welcome you again.

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Istanbul Day Tour and Famous Grand Bazaar: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Istanbul.
How much does Private Istanbul Day Tour and Famous Grand Bazaar cost?
+
Prices start at $59 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Istanbul usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Istanbul Day Tour and Famous Grand Bazaar take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Istanbul is not rushed.
Is Private Istanbul Day Tour and Famous Grand Bazaar worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 33 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Istanbul, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Istanbul Day Tour and Famous Grand Bazaar?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Istanbul Day Tour and Famous Grand Bazaar suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Istanbul Day Tour and Famous Grand Bazaar?
+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Istanbul can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Istanbul and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Istanbul Day Tour and Famous Grand Bazaar start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Istanbul within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Istanbul?
+
On Outty we rank every Istanbul experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Istanbul 1, 2 or 3-Day Private Guided Istanbul Tour, Istanbul Luxury Bosphorus Yacht Cruise with Asian Side Stop, ISTANBUL BEST: Iconic Landmarks Full Day PRIVATE Guided City Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Istanbul?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Istanbul?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
