The station was designed by Frederick William Stevens, a consulting architect in 1887-1888. The station stands as an example of 19th-century railway architectural marvels for its advanced structural and technical solutions. It was put on the UNESCO World Heritage List on 2 July 2004.

I was a bit wary about making a...
<p>I was a bit wary about making a walking tour through downtown Mumbai, because I thought it was going to be too crowded and a bit unsafe, but it turned out to be a very nice experience. The guide whose name, I have to admit, I forgot was very friendly and had a good deal of knowledge about each one of the spots we saw in the tour. We walked at a very good pace and it was nice to see all the British heritage in this city. I definitely recommend it because walking tours give you a good feel of the vibe of the city.</p>
