Excellent Private Trip

We had an excellent private trip from Bucharest. It's well worth the little extra amount to pay for a private driver to make the trip. Our driver, Daniel, was not too experienced with this particular trip, but he did a very good job, had very good suggestions, and we were able to do the trip how we wanted. Peles Castle was very crowded d/t school field trip week, but Daniel got us tickets and we had a great tour of the castle. We only stopped briefly at Bran Castle, and had a great lunch and tour of the town of Brasov thanks to Daniel. A long day, but well worth it.

2 Famous Castles Day Trip from Bucharest

The guide, Angelica, was on time for the pick-up from our hotel in Bucharest at 8:00 a.m. This is a 12 hour day trip. Her car was comfortable with air conditioning. Angelica was informative & allowed us to set our own pace. When we arrived at Peles Castle we opted to take the standard tour - be aware that you must pay the tour fee in cash. Next we toured Bran Castle & then went to Brasov where we ate lunch & had 1 1/2 hours to walk around the town. We arrived back at our hotel at 8:00 p.m. Angelica gave us plenty of opportunities to make comfort stops along the way. Be aware that you will encounter rush hour traffic as you depart and return to Bucharest. We opted to skip Sinaia Monastery to spend more time in Brasov. A private tour is worthwhile as you can set your own pace & decide where you would like to spend more time. We were very satisfied with the reservation process, communication and the tour itself.

Fabulous tour, we had a great day...

Fabulous tour, we had a great day and the castles were very beautiful in particular Peles. The benefits of the private tour were great and you can't beat the knowledge of a local, it's indispensable. He was flexible with our times at the castles and in Brasov and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.

    +

How far in advance should I book Private Guided Tour of Peles Castle and Bran Castle from Bucharest?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bucharest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bucharest and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

    +

What are the best things to do in Bucharest?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bucharest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Real tour of Communism, Bucharest Highlights Walking Tour, Top Gear Road, Small-group max 7 pax with Pick-up, Transfăgărăşan. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bucharest?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bucharest?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
