Great excursion in Tulum
Caleb picked us up at our hotel. He arrived early in a nice vehicle. He spoke English well and was very friendly and conversational. He drove us to the Sian Ka'an where we went on a private tour of the reserves and canal. The boat tour and floating were so much fun. Afterwards, we chose the ruins to tour. We were impressed with his historical knowledge of the ruins. Our last stop was a popular local taco stop. Overall, the experience was great and Caleb made it even better!
Response from the operator: Hi! Thank you so much for your kind words. It was truly a pleasure spending the day with you. Sian Ka’an, Tulum, and tacos make a great combination — I’m glad you enjoyed every part of it! Hope to see you again soon for another adventure. Caleb Boutique Tours Mexico

¡Muchas gracias, Josh!
Josh was such an excellent tour guide. We weren’t super excited to have an early ~2 hour drive to Ek Balam until we got in the car and time flew because we had such a great time talking with him. He was incredibly kind, knowledgeable and supportive, and made learning about Mexico, Ek Balam, cenotes, and Mayan history both fun and meaningful. After Ek Balam we visited Cenote X'Canché and a beautiful Mayan home for lunch 🐝 Highly suggest a tour with him! Also grateful to him for teaching us some Spanish. La leche entera 😁
Response from the operator: Hi! Thank you so much for your beautiful review. We’re so glad the drive flew by and that Ek Balam, the cenote, and the Mayan home made it such a special day. Josh will absolutely love reading this — especially the Spanish part! We truly appreciate the recommendation and hope to see you again soon. Caleb Boutique Tours Mexico

Best tour guide ever - Josh
We are a family of four (all adults) that booked the Ek-Balam tour. Definitely a must do experience - fewer crowds than Chichen Itza and more interactive (can climb the structures and walk into rooms). The cenote was beautiful and the lunch at the Mayan village was delicious. Some unique experiences included sampling traditional chocolate and seeing the stingless bees. A great experience made even better by our tour guide Josh. He was so genuinely kind, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. We have traveled to Mexico a few times and used different companies (and they were all nice) but Boutique Tours Mexico was by far the best. Because it is private, you don't feel rushed like you might on a group tour and they will adjust the excursion to your wants. Plus Josh is our favorite tour guide ever!
Response from the operator: Hi! Thank you so much for this incredible review. We’re so happy you loved Ek Balam, the cenote, and the Mayan village experience — it truly is a special combination. Josh will be proud to read your words. Being called your favorite tour guide ever is the highest compliment. We truly appreciate your trust and look forward to welcoming you back to Mexico soon. He had many interesting stories, and he was very knowledgeable about the history of the sites we visited and kept us entertained throughout the whole day! The entire family had a wonderful experience, and we highly recommend Boutique Tours Mexico! If Josh is your guide, you won't be disappointed!!!
Response from the operator: Hi! Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We’re thrilled your whole family had such a great experience. Josh will be very happy to hear your kind words — he truly loves what he does. We sincerely appreciate the recommendation and hope to see you again soon. Caleb Boutique Tours Mexico

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Ek Balam, Cenote & Valladolid tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tulum.
How much does Private Ek Balam, Cenote & Valladolid tour cost?
+
Prices start at $210 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tulum usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Ek Balam, Cenote & Valladolid tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tulum is not rushed.
Is Private Ek Balam, Cenote & Valladolid tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 24 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tulum, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Ek Balam, Cenote & Valladolid tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Ek Balam, Cenote & Valladolid tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Ek Balam, Cenote & Valladolid tour?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tulum can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tulum and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Ek Balam, Cenote & Valladolid tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tulum within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tulum?
+
On Outty we rank every Tulum experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tulum Ruins, Turtles in Akumal and Cenote tour, Tulum Guided Tour, Magical Cenote, Lagoon Snorkeling and Beachside Lunch, Chichén Itzá, Cenote and Valladolid with Lunch and transportation. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tulum?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tulum?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
