    Exceptional

This was an exceptional tour. From the initial booking, there was contact with the organiser & pre-booking conversations allowed a truly personalised day. The tour is with a family firm and nothing was too much trouble. They’re all exceptionally polite & helpful. Pick up was efficient (& in fact 1/2hr earlier) the van was comfortable, the driver very thoughtful & caring and his English impeccable (even if he did talk football to my husband the whole way to Pompeii!! My husband thought this was great!!) There was a problem with the ticket at Pompeii (no fault of this firm) but they went above & beyond to try to sort it out and all was well in the end. Drop off & pick up at each site was great & meant we could easily see everything in one day. Nowhere felt rushed & we would highly recommend seeing the sites this way. We didn’t have to queue anywhere with these tickets. The guide, Leonardo, at Pompeii was truly amazing! He really brought everything to life and the 2hrs flew by, even in 38’ heat! He managed to find shade and avoid the crowds so we saw a lot more than if in a large group. He also found us somewhere to get a drink & a slice of pizza as well as contacted the driver to tell him we would be a few mins late back to the van whilst we ate. This was not a problem at all. The driver had picked us up in Naples, at 08:30, with our suitcases, and was dropping us off at our next accommodation in Sorrento. Whilst we were at Pompeii he even contacted our accommodation in Sorrento to arrange arrival times so they were waiting for us when we arrived. The whole day was just perfect! Thank you

Taxi service is exact same but a fraction of the cost.

Our driver was great- very friendly and provided great communication pertaining to meeting point times and plans. Was very punctual. But honestly…. Just to be clear this is nothing more than a taxi service. The cost of the title “private” is all you are paying extra for. Same exact service, substantially different cost- go with the taxi service- it’s easy…

Response from the operator: Hi , thank you that you appreciate how we organize the meeting point the driver and communications....I don't understand what's the complaining about the title private.... have you done the tour with other people??? the answer is no... because we don't do group tours.....if you alludate to a private tour guide for Pompei ruins then sorry to say you didn't read carefully what's included and what's not included. I don't think we deserve 2 stars because you didn't read carefully what was included. I really appreciate if you can remove the review and give us the right merit to the driver. Sincerely, Umberto

    Historical day trip plus winery

What a fantastic tour guide. She loved her subject, and it showed. She was also very mindful of my walking which requires a stick. Antonio was a perfect driver too, and because we were unable to get entry tickets to Versuvius, he took us to a vineyard “Versuvius “ for a wine tasting lunch!!

Highly recommend! Very organized and efficient!

Umberto is an extremely organized and helpful driver and travel guide. He knew my itinerary better than me. We used him and his sons for transfers to and from Naples train to Sorrento. His son Manuel was our driver/ guide for the day to Vesuvius, winery and Pompeii he was not only informative but kind and entertaining. We would use their services again when we come back to Italy!

Private day tour: Pompei,Vesuvius and Herculaneum.: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naples.

How much does Private day tour: Pompei,Vesuvius and Herculaneum. cost?

    +

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naples usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private day tour: Pompei,Vesuvius and Herculaneum. take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naples is not rushed.

Is Private day tour: Pompei,Vesuvius and Herculaneum. worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private day tour: Pompei,Vesuvius and Herculaneum.?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private day tour: Pompei,Vesuvius and Herculaneum. suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private day tour: Pompei,Vesuvius and Herculaneum.?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private day tour: Pompei,Vesuvius and Herculaneum. start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naples within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Naples?

    +

On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Private Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento/Naples/Salerno, Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Naples?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Naples?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
