Along the way let the magnificent mountain scenery feast your eyes, with temples, pines, sculptures and engravings. Your tour guide will not accompany you throughout the tour. Stunning mountains
Huge mountains, stunning views and different from any other I've ever seen. There are several peaks, of different heights, but climbing any one of them requires good physical preparation. The climb is steep, with steps on the edge of the mountain. It's safer than tired. There is a cable car that takes you to a certain point, but you need to go up on foot to enjoy the ride.

Private tour of Xian: Terracotta, City wall, Pagoda and Huashan
My husband and I booked a private tour thru Chinahighlights.com with agent: Vivi Chen, to spend one day visiting the Terracotta Museum, the City Wall and the Pagoda and the second day visiting Huashan. We enjoyed the tour to a 100% as it was at our own pace. The schedule was perfect, no visiting shops. The tour guide , Robbie, spoke good English and his narration on the first day regarding Chinese history and local culture was really excellent. Unfortunately, there wasn't much talk regarding Huashan. He could have spoken more on Huashan being one of China's five great Mountains, its religious significance as well as its 5 main peaks. We were glad that he suggested to go to the West Peak instead of going to the North Peak as originally planned. At time of booking I have requested a male guide as my husband has low vision. Robbie was quite helpful to assist him to the washrooms. A little disappointing was that when ascending steps or slopes he led the way and waited for us at the top while as seniors and low vision person, we took time to climb to meet him. A suggestion for Robbie was that he should check meals offered on flights. Since we flew direct from Canada to Xian, changing 2 flights on the way, we didn't have supper on arrival to Xian. Altho the tour package didn't include supper, Robbie could at least make some suggestions where we could eat near the hotel. One other inconvenience was our baggage was delayed. Chinahighlights.com should have informed us that we needed to clear customs at Beijing. Our baggage was checked direct from Calgary Airport to Xian. When we arrived at Xian we discovered that our baggage was left at Beijing because we didn't pick them up for customs. We had to pay 300 RMB for the driver to pick them up the next day. In spite of these hick ups, we still recommend Chinahighlights.com and commend on Robbie a job well done.

Is Private Day Tour: Mt. Huashan Adventure from Xi'an worth it?
+

Is Private Day Tour: Mt. Huashan Adventure from Xi'an suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Day Tour: Mt. Huashan Adventure from Xi'an?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Xian can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Xian and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Day Tour: Mt. Huashan Adventure from Xi'an start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Xian within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Xian?
+
On Outty we rank every Xian experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Xi'an Day Tour: Terracotta Army&Optional City Attractions, All-Inclusive Terracotta Army Tour with Premium Buffet Lunch, 2-Day Customized Warriors Tours & Xian Top Attractions. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Xian?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Xian?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
