Great day, great guide and once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The full-day adventure was excellent. Our guide, Wendy, and driver picked us up from our hotel and everything was handled from beginning to end. Wendy has an great energy and deep knowledge of the sites. She was very receptive to all our questions. During our tour, a member of our party had a health issue that required extra attention. Wendy was very helpful and patient. She knew the sites well and was able to arrange for a wheelchair and places to rest until we could return to the vehicle. We were all very grateful for her thoughtfulness and experience. Would highly recommend her services.

    Amazing Guide

A wonderful visit to a wonderful city! In just one day, we got to experience all the must sees of Xi An, including the great terracotta warriors. Wendy, our guide, was very educated and experienced, and absolutely charming throughout the whole journey. We even got insight on the local cuisine, and had lunch at a famous “biang biang” noodle restaurant, that was delicious. We definitely recommend for all wanting to discover the beautiful city of Xi An!

    A 10 star tour

If I could give Wendy and her business partner, Mr. Jiang (姜), 10 stars, I absolutely would. Their service was truly top-notch and exceeded every expectation we had. Wendy has a rare ability and passion to bridge both Western and Eastern cultures, making her an exceptional guide for our bilingual Asian American family. She understood exactly what we were looking for and tailored the experience perfectly. What impressed me most was that Wendy reached out well before our China trip even began. She generously shared valuable travel advice, local insights, and practical guidance that helped us plan an amazing day in Xi’an. Her communication was outstanding from start to finish. Her tour of the Terracotta Warriors and the Bronze Chariots was incredibly well structured. Every minute was thoughtfully planned, and she made excellent use of our time. She packed in so much fascinating history and detail that we would have completely missed if we had explored on our own or joined a large group tour. She brought Chinese history to life in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand. Our driver, Mr. Jiang, was equally outstanding. He was not just a safe and professional driver, but also an attentive guide. We barely had to walk any unnecessary distance because he always seemed to be waiting exactly where we needed him whenever we moved to the next stop. His coordination with Wendy was seamless and made the entire day effortless. One of the highlights of the trip was seeing how much my son learned. In just one day, his understanding of Chinese history grew tremendously. He was genuinely fascinated and deeply impressed by everything he experienced. He has traveled extensively around the world, yet this was one of the most memorable tours he has ever taken. Unfortunately, my daughter couldn’t join us this time. That simply gives us another reason to come back. When we return to Xi’an, I won’t even consider touring without Wendy. I will absolutely book with her again and recommend her to all of my friends and family. Thank you, Wendy and Mr. Jiang, for giving our family such an unforgettable experience. You made Xi’an one of the highlights of our China trip.

    Great choice for a tour.

We had a great day with Wendy, after being recommended by a friend who did a tour with her last year. It was easy to organise with great communication through WhatsApp. The day was very relaxed with no time pressure at all. We were very glad we took the tour as it added a great deal to our understanding of the history and context of both the sites we visited, but also in the car and over lunch, of modern China. We were also very grateful for her recommendations for restaurants and massage spots in Xi’an which all proved to be exceptional and helped make our trip to Xi’an that much better, (And for helping us get some laundry done!) Wendy has a great approach, manner and excellent knowledge so we happily recommend her.

Wendy - “must go to” tour guide in Xi’an

Wendy was an amazing tour guide. Very knowledgeable, engaging, patient and insightful. She was able to connect philosophy, world history and geopolitics with the sites we visited and has an impressive command of the English language. Would highly recommend her to anybody who wishes to not only see Xi’an but also understand its culture and history.

Customized Private Day Tour:Terracotta Army&Xi'an(Entry fee excl): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Xian.

How much does Customized Private Day Tour:Terracotta Army&Xi'an(Entry fee excl) cost?

    +

Prices start at $109 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Xian usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Customized Private Day Tour:Terracotta Army&Xi'an(Entry fee excl) take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Xian is not rushed.

Is Customized Private Day Tour:Terracotta Army&Xi'an(Entry fee excl) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 91 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 568 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Xian, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.

Can I cancel or reschedule Customized Private Day Tour:Terracotta Army&Xi'an(Entry fee excl)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Customized Private Day Tour:Terracotta Army&Xi'an(Entry fee excl) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Customized Private Day Tour:Terracotta Army&Xi'an(Entry fee excl)?

    +

Around 199 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Xian can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Xian and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Customized Private Day Tour:Terracotta Army&Xi'an(Entry fee excl) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Xian within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Xian?

    +

On Outty we rank every Xian experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Xi'an Day Tour: Terracotta Army&Optional City Attractions, All-Inclusive Terracotta Army Tour with Premium Buffet Lunch, 2-Day Customized Warriors Tours & Xian Top Attractions. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Xian?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Xian?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
