Highly recommend
This was the best of the tours that we took in Albania. The operator was prompt at pickup time, the AC was working, and the guide was able to handle a larger group of people. These are not all guarantees here, since the country is still adjusting to the increase in tourism. We really enjoyed visiting Ohrid, and the majority of the time was spent there. The other stops (Bay of Bones and St. Naum Monastery) were both allotted an appropriate amount of time (just enough for pictures and a quick stroll). Would highly recommend this tour operator and wish we had done another tour with them. Thank you to Nolan and the driver.

Lake Ohrid and St Naum monastery, Macedonia
Picked up on time, guide gave history talk on coach en route. They organised all passports at borders. Lake Ohrid is a stunning area, well worth a visit. Ohrid old town is lovely. Little enclosed beaches with lots of bars and restaurants. St Jovan Kaneo is worth seeing. St Naum monastery was a delight. Very peaceful, calming and relaxing. Well organised, great guides and drivers. Long day but well worth it!

Very good day trip to Ohrid
We had an excellent guide, Djenni (I don’t know how to spell in Albanian). It was cloudy in Tirana but moderately heavy rain set in once we entered North Macedonia. Our guided tour of old town of Ohrid was difficult with umbrellas everywhere. Miraculously, the rain stopped as we walked along the shore to St John’s church, enabling us to appreciate the fantastic beauty of Lake Ohrid and the setting. After an excellent lunch at a restaurant our guide recommended, we continued to drive around the lake to St Naum’s monastery, the rain having returned. A great experience, I’m planning to return. Response from the operator: Dear Paul, Thank you very much for your wonderful review and for sharing your experience. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed the private day tour to Ohrid and St. Naum Monastery, despite the rainy weather. Lake Ohrid is beautiful in every season, and we are glad the rain stopped at the right moment for you to enjoy the walk by the shore and the views near St. John’s Church. We are also pleased to hear that Zeni made the day enjoyable and recommended a nice lunch stop for you. We will be happy to welcome you again whenever you return. Warm regards, Local Friends Albania

Why this scores 82
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Day Tour from Tirana: Ohrid, St. Naum Monastery Macedonia: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tirana.
How much does Private Day Tour from Tirana: Ohrid, St. Naum Monastery Macedonia cost?
+
Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tirana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Day Tour from Tirana: Ohrid, St. Naum Monastery Macedonia take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tirana is not rushed.
Is Private Day Tour from Tirana: Ohrid, St. Naum Monastery Macedonia worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 44 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tirana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Day Tour from Tirana: Ohrid, St. Naum Monastery Macedonia?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Day Tour from Tirana: Ohrid, St. Naum Monastery Macedonia suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Day Tour from Tirana: Ohrid, St. Naum Monastery Macedonia?
+
Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tirana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tirana and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Day Tour from Tirana: Ohrid, St. Naum Monastery Macedonia start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tirana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tirana?
+
On Outty we rank every Tirana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Tirana- Hiking Tour to Bovilla Lake & Gamti Mountain, From Tirana / Durres: Gamti Mountain and Bovilla lake Day Trip, Kruja castle, the old Bazaar & Sarisalltik- Departure from Tirana. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tirana?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tirana?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
