Magical experience in South Dakota
Jamie was outstanding. He knew everything about this region- ranging from geology to trees. He had phenomenal knowledge of history related to South Dakota dating back thousands of years. Finally, I had three days with him- and he was really fun to spend time with. I highly recommend Jamie for any sightseeing or hiking you are interested in.

We Saw a Herd of Several Hundred Buffalo
Our family of six (2 grandparents, 2 parents and two pre-teenage boys) enjoyed an incredible tour. We had a wonderful guide, Liz, who has an extensive knowledge of Custer State Park, its history, geology, wildlife, etc. An interesting story-teller. We booked that early morning tour. She drove us almost immediately to a herd of several hundred buffalo. Along the way, we saw a large number of deer, pronghorns, prairie dogs and other wild life. Each morning, the person who manages the 1,500 buffalo/bison herd for CSP, identifies where the herd is located and communicates that information to the tour guides. Great value for the investment.

Multigenerational Family Best Experience
Our tour guide, Jacki, was amazing!!! She took me (F, 61), my daughter (F, 32), and grandson (M, 10) on the Flume Trail. It was just perfect--beautiful SD woodlands, some steep slopes, Sheridan Lake, bridges, and tunnels. It was also a historical site as this was an early gold mining site; it complemented an excursion we took later in the week where we panned for gold. The site allowed us to imagine the hard labor that these miners experienced. The aroma of the trees was incredible. Jacki was a fabulous guide who was able to connect with each of us; and had a wealth of information to share. She even shared a bird app with my grandson (the avid bird watcher). And, that was just the morning. The afternoon was spent on a private guided tour through Custer State Park where we saw so many bison and newborns; it was incredible. For a point of reference, we took another tour of Custer State Park later in the week on a bigger bus with more people. Honestly, this trip is the way to go because we saw so much more. We could not have been more pleased with this tour--well worth the money.
