Bopiliao Historic Block
Walking into Bopiliao Historical Block is like walking into a movie set where the director yelled “action” about 200 years ago and never yelled “cut.” The bricks are weathered into deep shades of red and orange, and the afternoon sun bounces off them like warm light in a period drama. Every corner seems to tell a story, merchants selling herbs, families cooking behind carved wooden windows, a paper lantern swaying slightly in the breeze. Of course, now you might see a couple taking wedding photos in front of those same walls, or a tourist (hi, that’s me) stopping every 5 feet to stare at the texture of a doorframe. Bopiliao doesn’t try to impress you with flash. It’s more like an old friend telling you a good story, one detail at a time.

Wonderful day seeing Taipei!
My adult son and I had an outstanding day with Jennifer Yang. We visited numerous sites and Jennifer provided wonderful commentary along the way. She also answered our dozens of questions and gave us great ideas for our continued visit to Taiwan. We highly recommend Jennifer and this tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words! We're so glad you guys had a great time with our private tour guide, Jennifer Yang. She would be so happy to heard that. Thank you for booking one of Justaiwantour private tours. We hope to see you again for another Taiwan adventure.

Happy customer!!!
This is our 2nd booking with Jennifer Yang, she is very delightful and knowledgeable about the places we visit. We wanted to focus on old buildings and temples, and Jennifer definitely brought it! Here’s where we went: Confucius temple, Bao An temple, Chiang Kai Shek memorial, Longshan temple, Bopilao historical district, 2 temples (qing tian?) in Monga that I forgot the name of, Huaxi night market (ate at Michelin recommended Mr Wang’s Broth, 70 TWD for a big bowl of pork braised rice that’s satisfyingly savory and miraculously not greasy), and Dadaocheng (aka Dihua). There were actually MORE temples and markets on the itinerary but we punked out 2 hours early out of our own sheer laziness. Even if you don’t know exactly what you want to see, Jennifer contacts you a couple days ahead of time to get your requests and preferences, then sends you an itinerary to review. She is highly flexible, and if you change your mind on something or want to detour for something else, she can handle the planning with ease. I can’t stress enough how much of a godsend it is to have your own private guide with an air conditioned vehicle, we did exactly what we wanted plus other things she suggested to us that we didn’t know we wanted (but are sooooo glad we did them). Jennifer was also very generous with her knowledge and recommendations, we got some really great ideas for what we’re going to do on our own for our remaining days in Taiwan. We are super happy with our experience and will gladly recommend to all our family and friends.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for booking with us again and for sharing such a wonderful review! We’re thrilled that Jennifer was able to create another memorable experience for you, especially with an itinerary focused on Taipei’s historic buildings, temples, markets, and local food. It’s great to hear that you enjoyed the flexibility of the private tour and Jennifer’s ability to adjust the day around your interests and energy level. One of the best parts of a customized tour is being able to explore at your own pace—and there is certainly no shame in finishing early after such a full day! We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to Jennifer. She will be delighted to know that her knowledge, recommendations, and thoughtful planning helped you discover places you loved and gave you ideas for the rest of your time in Taiwan. Thank you again for your continued trust and enthusiastic recommendation. It was a pleasure welcoming you both back, and we hope to see you again on another Taiwan adventure!

Why this scores 84
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Car: 8 Hour Highly Customized Taipei City Exploration!: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Taipei.
How much does Private Car: 8 Hour Highly Customized Taipei City Exploration! cost?
+
Prices start at $143 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Taipei usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Car: 8 Hour Highly Customized Taipei City Exploration! take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Taipei is not rushed.
Is Private Car: 8 Hour Highly Customized Taipei City Exploration! worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 187 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Taipei, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Car: 8 Hour Highly Customized Taipei City Exploration!?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Car: 8 Hour Highly Customized Taipei City Exploration! suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Car: 8 Hour Highly Customized Taipei City Exploration!?
+
Around 65 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Taipei can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Taipei and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Car: 8 Hour Highly Customized Taipei City Exploration! start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Taipei within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Taipei?
+
On Outty we rank every Taipei experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Private Custom Taipei City Tour, Private Tour to Jiufen, Yehliu Geopark, and Pingxi, Full-Day Private Northern Taiwan Tour from Taipei with Pickup. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Taipei?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Taipei?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
