    The trip of a lifetime!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ +++ If we could give more than 5 stars, we would! The trip of a lifetime! There are trips that you enjoy… and there are others that remain etched in us forever. Our 8-day safari in Tanzania with Safari Africa United is definitely one of those. This trip far exceeded all our expectations. We dreamed of experiencing a safari in Africa, but we never would have imagined experiencing so many extraordinary moments. Our itinerary took us through Tarangire, the central and northern Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater, and Lake Manyara. Breathtaking landscapes, incredible wildlife, and new surprises every day. But what truly made all the difference in our experience was our driver-guide, Laurian. From the very first moments, we were impressed by Laurian. His incredible sense of observation and his ability to spot animals, sometimes at a distance where we could distinguish absolutely nothing, amazed us throughout the safari. But Laurian does not just settle for finding animals. He knows the wildlife, understands their behaviors, and knows how to anticipate what might happen. He knows where to look, how to position the vehicle to offer us the best view and the best photos, but above all, when it is better to wait and let nature surprise us. And this patience, combined with his experience, allowed us to witness moments we never imagined we would experience. We had the immense luck of seeing the Big Five, but our safari was so much more than a list of animals to check off. We witnessed the birth of a zebra foal, observed a lion and lioness mating, saw predators with their prey, elephant families with their calves, a leopard camouflaged in a tree, cheetahs, and so many other fascinating scenes. We saw wildlife as it really is: birth, reproduction, hunting, protecting the young, survival... Moments that were sometimes tender, sometimes spectacular, and sometimes completely unexpected. Several times, we felt like we were watching a nature documentary, except this time, we were there, in the heart of the savanna. We love photography, and Laurian quickly understood that. He never rushed us. He took the time to position the vehicle well, let us photograph and observe the animals, and knew when it was necessary to just stay there... and let nature surprise us. Even though the main points of our itinerary were established in advance, our safari never felt like a pre-programmed tour. Laurian personalized it day by day according to what we wanted to see and observe. He was constantly listening to our interests and adapted our days based on our wishes, the animals, and the opportunities that arose. We truly felt like we were experiencing our own safari, designed for us. And there is one aspect we particularly want to emphasize: we felt very safe with Laurian from start to finish. He is an excellent driver, careful, calm, and experienced, even on the most difficult tracks. His judgment and experience inspired our total confidence. We knew we were in very good hands and could simply enjoy the adventure to the fullest. Our hot air balloon flight over the Serengeti at sunrise added even more magic to this already exceptional adventure. Seeing the vastness of the African savanna from the sky will also remain one of our greatest memories. But what we will remember about Laurian goes far beyond his professional qualities. For eight days, he shared his passion for Tanzania, its wildlife, its landscapes, its culture, and its people with us. He answered our countless questions, made us laugh, took care of us, and sincerely cared about making every day a special experience. As the kilometers and days went by, a true bond was formed. And when our safari ended, we no longer just felt like we were saying goodbye to our driver-guide... we were saying goodbye to a friend. Safari Africa United provided us with impeccable organization and an experience that exceeded everything we had imagined. We recommend this company without the slightest hesitation. And if you are lucky enough to have Laurian as your driver-guide, consider yourselves truly privileged. His incredible sense of observation, his knowledge of the wildlife, his patience, his safe driving, his attentiveness, his ability to personalize each day, and above all his passion transformed a safari that would have already been magnificent into the trip of a lifetime. Asante sana, Laurian! ❤️ Thank you for taking such good care of us and for helping us discover your Tanzania. We arrived with a dream... and we are leaving with memories for a lifetime. And there are two little phrases that will likely make us smile for a long time to come when we think of you: "Hakuna matata!"... and your famous "How are you? How are you?" 😊 Yes Laurian, I am doing well... and I am actually doing very well! ❤️🇹🇿 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ +++

    Professional tour operator!

Safari Africa United is a small but very professional organization! They answer all the questions that you have regarding your booking, respond very quickly and arrange everything you need, even when you want to change a travel-schedule. You’ll get a very warm welcome at the airport and everything is arranged for. Accommodation, food, entree-fees etc. The driver/ guide is professional, responsible and has a lot of knowledge. When there is a hick-up in your schedule they do everything they can to solve the situation quickly in your best interest. We had the best week in Tanzania with Safari Africa United and recommend everyone to book with this organization!

    Beyond our expectations!!

The trip of a life time! My partner and I chose Safari Africa United for our 8 day mid range private safari and it was beyond our expectations. Safari Africa United is a locally owned company which I think really sets them apart from the big ones in delivering a more personalized experience. Cornelius (the owner of the company) delivered everything that our package outlined and more. He was also very responsive and flexible when we were a bit late getting into Arusha, as well as very prompt in emailing me back when I was booking the experience. Our guide was Laurian and he was very friendly and knowledgeable about all the animals, tribes and culture of Tanzania, and the diverse landscapes. Laurian was also a safe driver (super important on the dirt roads/ rough terrain of the Serengeti). We saw so many animals every day- way more than expected including the big five as well as The Great Migration and so many more. The accommodations were exactly as promised and all the staff were very hospitable and friendly as well. Laurian and Cornelius both delivered an amazing experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for traveling with Us and thank you for sharing your life time experience . Hope to see you again .

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Moshi.

How much does Private 8-Day Mara River Crossing Serengeti Wildebeest Migration cost?

    +

Prices start at $4,320 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Moshi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private 8-Day Mara River Crossing Serengeti Wildebeest Migration take?

    +

Plan for about 192 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Moshi is not rushed.

Is Private 8-Day Mara River Crossing Serengeti Wildebeest Migration worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Moshi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private 8-Day Mara River Crossing Serengeti Wildebeest Migration?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private 8-Day Mara River Crossing Serengeti Wildebeest Migration suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 192-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private 8-Day Mara River Crossing Serengeti Wildebeest Migration?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Moshi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Moshi and add a light layer if any part of the 192-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private 8-Day Mara River Crossing Serengeti Wildebeest Migration start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Moshi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Moshi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Moshi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfall, Coffee Tour and Picnic Hot Lunch, Materuni Waterfall and Coffee Plantation Half Day Tour, Kilimanjaro climb, Machame Route (7-day). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Moshi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Moshi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
