Wonderful day in Algarve, despite the weather!

This trip almost didn't happen because of the crazy weather that has befallen Portugal this March. The night before, it sounded like a hurricane was ravaging Lisbon! Thankfully, by the morning, things looked up, and our driver Enam decided to proceed with the tour. He was punctual and communicative. We are staying in a hotel in Lisbon with no access to a functional street, so we had to make special arrangements for a meeting point. The drive to Algarve was very pleasant. Myself and our driver had some nice conversation along the way. He was very accommodating to our needs, stopping twice at our request. Once we got to Algarve, we were able to see the Benagil rocks and caves. The ocean was very agitated, therefore we could not do the boat tour inside the cave. Same with the gorilla cave. We were still able to see the Marinha beach and the cave from above. I imagine during good weather, the water must be spectacular and the beaches wonderful to enjoy. The beaches are gorgeous, a nice soft camel color with very smooth sand. Our driver brought us to a fabulous local restaurant for lunch. The restaurant is called Monte do Mar. It's over 100 yrs old and located in Carvoeiro. We enjoyed a delicious meal and fantastic service by Bernardo. We ordered their signature dish - seafood cataplana, a medley of seafood in the most delicious red sauce. Yum! Our driver was very kind and generous to treat us to essentially half our bill, something he didn't have to do, as it was not included in the trip. Afterwards, we walked around the town of Carvoeiro, found a great pastry shop and did a little shopping. Our driver was going to take us to Lagos, but the weather turned bad in a matter of minutes and we had to head back to Lisbon instead to beat the storm. It was a lovely day, even though we did not get to go inside the caves. Personally, I wasn't going to let this put a damper on our day. We still had a great time and we had the best driver/ guide in Enam! Highly recommend!

    Very accomodating and fair

Eman was very friendly and accomodating for all ages (my mother 70 - wasn’t up to walking along the cliff as no guard rails so he provided alternative solutions). Whilst I feel I did miss out, I feel he accomodate us so well. He is and was a blessing. I highly recommend the amazing Portuguese food in the blue and white restaurant (tell him the one he asked for spicy peri peri chicken). It was absolutely amazing and restored faith in Portuguese food, NOTHING could taste bad there!!

    +

Prices start at $300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Premium Algarve tour from Lisbon: Benagil Cave,Lagos&Boat Tour take?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Lisbon?

    +

On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Lisbon?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Lisbon?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
