What you get
About this experience
A private and authentic Portuguese meal in a local Almada home with your host Paula. A perfect experience for anyone looking to connect with local culture over food. Born to a Goan family who has lived in Goa, Mozambique and Portugal, Paula is a true reflection of the cultural diversity embedded in Portuguese cuisine. Paula’s love of food and cooking started from a young age, and food brought her family together early and often. One night they might eat Portuguese home-cooking while the next night her mother would make Goan samosas from scratch. Her mother, an artist in the kitchen, would constantly invite people into their homes (Paula remembers when she was at school she would come home to find her mother had invited the entire teaching staff over for a meal). Paula is a true artist with food, and she welcomes you into her home to share a Portuguese meal with international influence that will help you to truly understand Portuguese-Goan culture. Paula has a dog and a cat.

Amazing Dinner With Paula!
Meeting Paula was an amazing addition to our trip to Portugal. She offered so much warmth and kindness during our time with her, even showing us around where she grew up and taking us for drinks and good conversation after our class was over. Paula was a great communicator as well, ensuring we knew where to go stress free and offering to help us out if needed during the rest of our trip. The food was amazing! She sent the menu ahead of time too and was open to any and all feedback as she really wants the meal to be yours and for you to enjoy it. It was such a memorable experience for us and we definitely recommend you book with her! - Kayla

If you are in lisbon you must try the class
The cooking class was warm and inviting. Chef Paula was very knowledgeable about the dishes and taught us some tips and tricks for cooking the meals at home. The class felt like dinner with friends we laughed the entire time and stayed well after chatting throughout the night. Such a great experience

Unique and Flavorful experience
What a wonderful way to spend a few hours in Almada. If you are looking to have an authentic and customized experience while in Lisbon this is a must do. From visiting the local market to opening up her home and kitchen, Paulihna offers a peek into the real Portugal and the fusion of flavors brought by colonial Portuguese history. Learned some new skills and tasted new flavors.

Portuguese Home Dining Experience in Lisbon with a Local, Paula: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lisbon.
How much does Portuguese Home Dining Experience in Lisbon with a Local, Paula cost?
+
Prices start at $30 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lisbon usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Portuguese Home Dining Experience in Lisbon with a Local, Paula take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lisbon is not rushed.
Is Portuguese Home Dining Experience in Lisbon with a Local, Paula worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 20 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lisbon, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Portuguese Home Dining Experience in Lisbon with a Local, Paula?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Portuguese Home Dining Experience in Lisbon with a Local, Paula suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Portuguese Home Dining Experience in Lisbon with a Local, Paula?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lisbon can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lisbon and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Portuguese Home Dining Experience in Lisbon with a Local, Paula start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lisbon within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lisbon?
+
On Outty we rank every Lisbon experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Lisbon City Center Tour - The Unmissable Lisbon, Sintra Private Trip from Lisbon Customizable Dreamlike Experience, True 4Hour Private Tuk Tuk Tour: Discover Lisbon with a Local!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lisbon?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lisbon?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
