Probably better without stops.
Pickup was prompt as scheduled. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 weeks of luggage. Alfredo was very polite and helpful. We had ordered a trip to Madrid from Porto with 2 stops. We agreed to lunch at Aguila which was closer to Madrid. We may have no understood the role of the driver at the stops. We were dropped off to explore but no guided suggestions. In retrospect it would have been more efficient to drive without additional stops. Of some concern was the development of an engine issue during the last 2 hours that reduced power in the mountains as well as the A/C. Alfredo perservered and we made it to our hotel, but I did fear for our driver who had fluids leaking from his vehicle. We hope he made it home ok.
Response from the operator: Dear Robert_N, Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. We are pleased to know that your pickup was punctual, the vehicle spacious for your group, and that Alfredo provided polite and helpful service throughout the journey. Regarding the stops, our guides can take two different approaches depending on each guest’s preference: they may stay by the vehicle to safeguard belongings and ensure everything remains secure, or they may accompany guests during the visit. When the guide does not accompany, it is our responsibility to clearly explain what there is to see and indicate the best way to explore each location. Your feedback helps us reinforce this communication even further. Concerning the mechanical issue, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. All our vehicles are fully covered by assistance services, and every inspection and maintenance procedure is carried out directly by the official brand. The vehicle was taken for inspection immediately after your transfer, and Alfredo arrived home safely. Safety and reliability are priorities for us, and your comments help us continue to uphold these standards. Thank you again for your honesty and for choosing our service for your trip between Porto and Madrid. Warm regards, Meridian4People Team

Madrid to Porto
We had a very pleasant trip from Madrid to Porto. We stopped by 3 towns Segovia, Avila and Salamanca. Segovia is a customised stop with an extra cost. It is definitely worth to stop by Segovia. We are so pleased to have Jose Pinho be our driver. He is a very friendly gentleman, his English is easily understandable. We can communicate well with him. Throughout the trip he gave us ample of time to explore each town. He recommended to us the places to visit in each town and how we can explore from one place to another. He explained to us different information about the towns and answered our questions very patiently. The MPV was very spacious and clean. We all felt very comfortable to ride in the car and he even offered a charger for us to charge our phones. We were given complimentary mineral waters as well. When we reached Proto he took the extra mile to drive us to the city hill to view the night view of Porto instead of straight away sent us to our Hotel. We really appreciated his thought. It was really a pleasant journey with José.
Response from the operator: Dear customer Thank you very much for taking time to review us, we truly appreciate it!! It's always a pleasure to provide wonderful experiences to those who visit us. Thanks again, and we hope that you return to Portugal in the near future. We will be happy to welcome you again! Thank you! Greetings, The team MERIDIAN4PEOPLE – PORTUGAL

How far in advance should I book Porto to Madrid Up to 2 Stops: Salamanca & Avila?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Porto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Porto and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Porto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Porto?
+
On Outty we rank every Porto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center, Best of Porto Walking Tour Small Group Experience and Local Guide, Douro Valley Small Group Tour: 2 Wineries, Lunch & River Cruise. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Porto?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Porto?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
