On the 17th December 1921, an establishment called Elite café opened for business in Porto. It was located in Santa Catarina street, a pedestrian walkway for shopping and for the finest members of society, then and now. The café enlightened the street with its Art Nouveau decoration, by architect João Queiroz.

Torre dos Clerigos
The Church of Clérigos (Ecclesiastics) is a genuine baroque masterpiece dating from the mid-18th century. It was designed by Nicolau Nasoni, an architect of Italian origin. He stamped his mark on many monuments around Oporto and the north of Portugal. Nasoni, on his request, was buried here in a small chapel with its gateway at the same level as the top of the double bolster stairway.

Porto city tour and port tasting
I really enjoyed this tour. Miguel’s knowledge was amazing and we had so much fun! Ferris the driver was so good too. The port tasting was an experience I will not forget. I would do this again in a heartbeat.

Daniela is an amazing tour guide and Franco is an excellent driver. We appreciated all of the great detail and history explained by Daniela. The cellar wine tour was fascinating and the wine tasting of white, red and tawny were delicious. It was the best way to end our half day tour.
