Brendan is a freakin stud
First off I will say that Brendan my tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable not only about the known haunted sites but other places that were not on the tour. He is so friendly and patient with me asking as many questions as I could, Being I was the only person on the 10:30 night tour it felt much more personal. If there was an outline that was supposed to be followed, he knocked it out of the park, I had no idea. Even though I experienced the city last night I would absolutely comeback for another tour for the only reason would be Brendan. Brendan, thank you again for being my tour guide, I hope everyone who decides to take this tour gets to experience the man the myth the legend known as BRENDAN!!!
Response from the operator: This review is AMAZING! Thank you so much, Travis! We’re thrilled Brendan made your Portland late-night tour one you’ll remember. His incredible local knowledge, friendly personality, and willingness to dive into every question really make him special, and we’re so glad you got to experience that firsthand. “The man, the myth, the legend” is definitely a title he’ll have to live up to now! We’ll make sure Brendan sees your kind words, and we’d absolutely love to have you back for another haunted Portland adventure!

Amazing experience when in Portland!
So. Much. Fun. Our family goes on ghost tours in all the big city’s we visit, and this was one of the best so far. Brendon was an absolutely awesome guide and totally made the whole experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the wonderful review, Adah! We're thrilled your family had such a great time with Brendon. It's extra special to hear this from seasoned ghost-tour travelers who seek out haunted history wherever they go! We're so glad Portland delivered, and we'll definitely let Brendon know how much you enjoyed his tour. Hope your next spooky adventure is just as amazing!

Excellent guide but safety concerns
We did the 10:30 pm tour and Brendan was our guide. He was 10/10. You could tell he loves his job- fun and enthusiastic. Great story-teller. Unfortunately having to navigate around homeless people the entire tour distracted from the experience. We constantly had to be aware of who was walking towards us or screaming at each other behind us. There were some who had dogs aggressively barking at passersby. I understand the tour is in the old town area because of the history there but the city really needs to get a grasp on the homeless situation in that area. The people in that area eem to be accustomed to it but for someone from out of town, it's pretty shocking. The entirety of people we crossed paths with were drugged out and in bad shape. Some approached asking for money and others were arguing or shouting. Didn't feel safe at all and we were constantly checking to see who was walking behind us. I hate to leave a bad review because Brendan was such a great guy but feel like other people should know that safety is a concern. I could tell he was trying to route us around the worst of it. I suggest taking the earlier tour and be in a bigger group and I suggest carrying pepper spray at the very least.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing both the positives and the concerns from your experience, Laura. We’re delighted to hear Brendan was friendly, enthusiastic, and an excellent storyteller. We also understand why the situations you encountered throughout the evening affected your sense of comfort and took away from the tour. We appreciate you recognizing his efforts to navigate the group around those areas. Please email your booking ID to guestrelations@usghostadventures.com, and we’ll share your feedback with our managers so they can review your concerns and work toward a resolution.

Portland Ghost Tour
There was a lot happening around the streets of Portland on the night of our tour. Our guide was great at staying aware of the situations and tailoring her tour to avoid some of the spots that might have been uncomfortable. Her easy-going conversation and whole vibe was perfectly Portland and we had a lot of fun
Response from the operator: Hello Heath, thank you for your hauntingly wonderful review! We’re so glad you had a great time exploring Portland with us. It’s wonderful to hear your guide was able to adapt to the evening’s circumstances while keeping the tour enjoyable and comfortable for everyone. Her laid-back style and local perspective truly capture the spirit of Portland, and we’re thrilled you had so much fun along the way!

Ghosts in city of roses.
The homicide stories you learn about this tour are tragic and interesting. The tour guide did a great job describing numerology and masonry lore.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback! We're pleased you found the tour engaging and informative, especially the unique aspects like numerology and Masonic history. We'll be sure to pass your compliments along to the guide and hope to see you on another tour in the future.

Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Portland Ultimate Dead of Night Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Portland.
How much does Portland Ultimate Dead of Night Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $27 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Portland usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Portland Ultimate Dead of Night Tour take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Portland is not rushed.
Is Portland Ultimate Dead of Night Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 37 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Portland, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Portland Ultimate Dead of Night Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Portland Ultimate Dead of Night Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Portland Ultimate Dead of Night Tour?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Portland can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Portland and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Portland Ultimate Dead of Night Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Portland within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Portland?
+
Portland's activity list is food cart and brewery crawls, Columbia River Gorge waterfall tours to Multnomah Falls, Mount Hood day trips and Willamette Valley pinot tastings. Gorge tours vary in how many falls they reach, so route detail is the deciding factor. On Outty we rank every Portland experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full-Day Guided Oregon Coast Tour from Portland, Multnomah Falls and Columbia River Gorge Half-Day Hiking Tour, Columbia Gorge Waterfalls and Mt. Hood Tour - Full Day. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Portland?
+
June to October for the Gorge, with waterfalls at their fullest in spring. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Portland?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
