great! needs more veggie options
i loved it! needs more vegetarian options for lunch as only option was plain pasta and olive oil, which was shocking ! but riccardo was lovely and the island was beautiful.
Response from the operator: Noted! Our tiny little boat kitchen makes it difficult to find options to suit all tastes and dietary restrictions, and while we do our best we appreciate any feedback that pushes up to innovate and improve. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your day with Riccardo and hope you visit us again!

Fine day trip, needs improvement
Ponza is beautiful and well-worth a boating excursion. It was convenient to book with this tour, because we could get ferry tickets from Anzio to Ponza that were otherwise not available anywhere. That said, unfortunately the atmosphere of the boat is less than relaxing, with the guide giving the tour from a blaring loud speaker. It was giving me a huge headache, and in my opinion the ride would’ve been much better without the incessant facts about the island. They should focus on making the experience more relaxing… Between the first and second swim stop, we were riding on the boat for what felt like an hour. It was way too long to be on such choppy waters and I had hoped that the swim spots would be closer together. The lunch was pasta and OK, they didn’t offer to give us water or any beverages throughout. There were a lot of other people on board and the boat is small. Not much room to lay down anywhere or relax.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback, and I'm so glad Ponza itself made an impression — it really is a special place to spend a day on the water. On the long stretch between swim stops: the timing isn't fixed but depends on the sea conditions each day, and yours happened to be unusually choppy, which isn't typical. I've noted your thoughts on the commentary and the beverages, and we'll take them on board. I hope we'll have the chance to welcome you again on a calmer day.

Amazing day trip
Very good experience. We enjoyed the whole trip and Mara was fantastic. She was very knowledgeable and helpful. We would highly recommend taking this day trip. Only thing we wished we knew was to bring your own towel :)
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We're thrilled you enjoyed the whole trip, and we'll be sure to pass your kind words along to Mara — she'll be delighted to hear she made your day so special.

Best ever!
Mara was our guide and she was spectacular! This was one of the most incredible things I've done! I would recommend to every person going to Rome to take this day trip!
Response from the operator: Spectacular & incredible - what great adjectives to describe Mara and your day in Ponza! Thank you for taking the time to leave such a flattering review - come back again some day!

Great views and swimming
Great way to see the coastline of the island while having a fun cooling relaxing time swimming at 5 locations. This cliffs, caves, nooks were impressive. Water is remarkably clear. Snorkeling enabled great views underwater. The boat was full, many Europeans on vacation (I am from the US on a cruise). By the first swimming spot we were all comfortably mingling together. Food wine and water offered - nothing special but it hit the spot. Definitely do this is you have the chance.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We're thrilled you enjoyed exploring the island's coastline and cooling off at all five swimming spots. The cliffs, caves, and hidden nooks really are something special, and there's nothing like that crystal-clear water for snorkeling. We love that the boat becomes its own little community by the first stop — guests from all over the world (and cruises!) mingling and sharing the experience is one of our favorite things to see. So glad the food, wine, and water hit the spot too. Thank you for recommending us, and we hope to welcome you back to Italy again someday!

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Ponza Island 5 Hour Boat Tour with Lunch and Snorkeling Option: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.
How much does Ponza Island 5 Hour Boat Tour with Lunch and Snorkeling Option cost?
+
Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Ponza Island 5 Hour Boat Tour with Lunch and Snorkeling Option take?
+
Plan for about 5.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.
Is Ponza Island 5 Hour Boat Tour with Lunch and Snorkeling Option worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Ponza Island 5 Hour Boat Tour with Lunch and Snorkeling Option?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Ponza Island 5 Hour Boat Tour with Lunch and Snorkeling Option suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Ponza Island 5 Hour Boat Tour with Lunch and Snorkeling Option?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 5.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Ponza Island 5 Hour Boat Tour with Lunch and Snorkeling Option start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rome?
+
Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rome?
+
April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rome?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
