    Perfection does not even...

Perfection does not even begin to describe this experience. Our driver was the most polite and helpful person, even when I got a little car sick! The tour guide at Pompeii was outstanding and the winery is an absolute GEM!

    Overall, really very good!

Drive was good from Positano, though it would have been better if there wasn’t a remnant smoke smell from the driver. However, the tour was great, the vineyard amazing, and our driver was always on time.

    lovely aftenoon

The vineyard was beautiful. Our host, Roberto, was wonderful as was his tour of the vineyard. Our lunch was delicious and our service was excellent. Highly recommend.

    Amazing Experience

What a great experience. Pompeii is absolutely amazing to see. We have been to other ruins but Pompeii is so well done and our guide was very informative. From here, we went to the winery where we enjoyed a fabulous lunch and some truly amazing wines. Would highly recommend this tour.

    Overpriced for what you get

Firstly I want to say that the star of the show was our driver Nancy, such a lovely person. We really enjoyed our interactions with her to and from the sites. What let this tour down is that the Pompei tour and subsequent wine tasting, are not managed by them but by external providers- which sadly let them down in this occasion. One the day: once you get to Pompei you get dropped off and get slotted into a bigger group for the walking tour. A guide takes you over to the gates, and has responsibility of getting your tickets and taking you through the tour. Our guide, who was absolutely lovely and knowledgeable (in the actual tour), had absolutely no idea and no organisation when it came to the ticket buying portion. We ended up being in the sun for 1 hour queuing with no way of getting in. When it was time to do so, a further error was made as fewer tickets than necessary were bought, so not everyone in the group could get in- the wait restarted… this was very unfortunate and a sour start to the trip. When Pompei finished, our lovely driver Nancy was waiting to take us to the wine tasting. Mixed emotions I should say. The staff member that welcomed us very nice and friendly, and even gave us a mini tour of the property- which was fantastic! We then started the wine tasting where we got to try 4 wines. I must say all of them were great, but it was not a wine tasting….. we got poured roughly ~100ml of each wine (all at once) and were left to drink them at our own pace as lunch came out… The lunch, well, left alot to be desired. We started off with a small charcuterie board, followed by a small plate of pasta and then a small dessert. While everything tasted nice, I wouldnt say it was anything special. The staff and sommelier also lost interest in us quite quickly when they realised we didn’t want to buy a crate of wine to ship out to our home address…. We were literally left by ourselves in the middle of a garden and walked ourselves out when we finished….overall, many things can be improved on. We also had no way of contacting Nancy… so had to wait while the provider reached out. Overall, both the provider we were speaking to Noemi, and our driver Nancy, were excellent and very communicative throughout. But the heart of the event did not live upto expectations based on the price tag.

Pompeii Wine Tasting Tour from Positano: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Positano.

How much does Pompeii Wine Tasting Tour from Positano cost?

    +

Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Positano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Pompeii Wine Tasting Tour from Positano take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Positano is not rushed.

Is Pompeii Wine Tasting Tour from Positano worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 26 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Positano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Pompeii Wine Tasting Tour from Positano?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Pompeii Wine Tasting Tour from Positano suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Pompeii Wine Tasting Tour from Positano?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Positano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Positano and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Pompeii Wine Tasting Tour from Positano start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Positano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Positano?

    +

On Outty we rank every Positano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cooking class with Pasta, mozzarella and Tiramisu with wine, Capri and Blue Grotto Semi Private Boat Day Trip from Sorrento, From Sorrento: Positano & Amalfi Coast Boat Tour with Pick Up. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Positano?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Positano?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
