Pompei highlights
Knowledgeable and engaging guide..Ricardo. Showed and explained the highlights of Pompei. Wished the tour had been longer. There's so much to see.

Great intro to Pompei site
Absolutely amazing time! The tour was great, just would have appreciated a few more places to peridically rest. Pompei is so large you will most likely need more than one day. The wine tasting experience was just wonderful and highly recommended. Would have been nice to have a little more time for pictures to capture the moment.
Response from the operator: Thanks for your feedback, see you next time!

Fantastic Time
Luigi was an amazing guide. Told stories about the site and informed us about how to look at things at other sights as an archeologist would.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much!

Yay for Pompeii!
I am so glad we booked this! We booked the night before. I was looking into this a couple weeks prior but I saw all the 'so so' reviews on the food at the vineyard and the staff there. It was going to rain so we made the last minute decision to do this activity since it wouldn't be too nice; I love wine and my husband loves history... fair trade off. This was probably our favorite day in Italy! Ricardo was FANTASTIC on our tour! The amount of knowledge he held; i just kept looking at my husband wide eyed to all the historical information we learned. Ricardo took his time explaining everything and went at a wonderful pace. I really could have spent hours with this man just absorbing the all knowledge he had; the way he explained it all was just perfect. It DOWNPOURED during our tour; my husband and I were fine, we were having a blast learning about Pompei, and Ricardo kept offering his umbrella to me. He was very sweet and made sure everyone was with the group and safe during the rain. My husband and I also had a train issue before the tour and were 10 minutes late; Ricardo responded right away to my messages and explained where to go and what to do if we did not make it on time. I have no idea why the wine and food tasting has such subpar reviews on here; it was DELICIOUS! Maybe they changed the winery they went to because of the past reviews but I cannot say enough great things about this place. First off; the wine was delicious (I bought some to take home and my family owns a winery so I may know a thing or two about wine). The food was more than I thought we were getting and it was FRESH and the flavors popped! App, meatballs, eggplant , pasta and gelato with wine in it for dessert! The tour was short but cute. They let you eat the grapes too and hang out as long as you would like. I also thought our server was very sweet and answered any questions if you had them. I don't know if people in the past wanted more information about the wine but I felt she explained them all thoroughly and appreciated that she didn't go on and let us enjoy our wine and food. The views were breathtaking! And you have the adorable Gia, the vineyard dog, who greets everyone when they arrive (she stays outside). I am so glad we chose this, they knocked it out of the park and for the price... you can't beat it!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for these beautiful words and for taking the time to write such a detailed review. We really appreciate it. We're happy you enjoyed the tour with our guide, as they are all passionate and very knowledgeable. We're also glad you enjoyed the tasting; the winery is truly high-quality. See you next time!

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Pompeii Small Group Tour & Food/Wine tasting at Mt. Vesuvius: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pompeii.
How much does Pompeii Small Group Tour & Food/Wine tasting at Mt. Vesuvius cost?
+
Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pompeii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Pompeii Small Group Tour & Food/Wine tasting at Mt. Vesuvius take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pompeii is not rushed.
Is Pompeii Small Group Tour & Food/Wine tasting at Mt. Vesuvius worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Pompeii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Pompeii Small Group Tour & Food/Wine tasting at Mt. Vesuvius?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Pompeii Small Group Tour & Food/Wine tasting at Mt. Vesuvius suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Pompeii Small Group Tour & Food/Wine tasting at Mt. Vesuvius?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pompeii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pompeii and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Pompeii Small Group Tour & Food/Wine tasting at Mt. Vesuvius start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pompeii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Pompeii?
+
On Outty we rank every Pompeii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Minivan Trip from Rome: Pompeii Tour & Lunch in Sorrento, Skip the Line Guided Tour of Pompeii Led by an Archaeologist, Explore Pompeii with an Archaeologist. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Pompeii?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Pompeii?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
