Pompeii Guided tour
We decided to venture outside of the Cruises Excursions they offered. We decided to do a 2.5 hour Pompeii guided tour. Because this was outside our ships excursions we needed to taxi about 10 mins away (downtown 20 Euro’s). We ended up going into Cafe Moreno for a quick bite and some coffee. Our driver met with us and it took us about 35 mins to get to Pompeii. Upon our arrival we had time to grab some water and use the restrooms. And then we met Frankie ( Fransisco). I could tell right away we had the BEST tour guide - Frankie provided us an enthusiastic but informative tour for our group. He obviously knew his way around and was able to help us manage the tricky terrain. I would suggest that you DO NOT wear flip flops or loose fitting shoes. Also the terrain would be difficult for anyone in a wheelchair. It’s doable but it would be very difficult and I did see a few wheelchair being pushed around but it would be difficult in certain areas. Anyhow Frankie would provide us history on all of our stops as well as always trying to get us into the shade as mush as possible. Mixed into all the information he provided was humor and a personal experience to the 12 people included with us. This was a 5 out of 5 star guided tour. If you’re lucky enough to get Frankie you’ll get a 10 out of 10. I’d also say we probably saved $400 over the ships excursions and I believe the tour we were looking at was not guided. Anyhow, enjoyed this immensely and it’s well worth the money and we’d do it again.

Perfect tour
What a great experience from start to finish. We were picked up in a clean and well air conditioned van and brought to Pompeii. Our tour guide was Francesca and she was amazing! She was so knowledgeable and interactive and funny. Loved her! This tour was the perfect morning tour.

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Pompeii Guided Tour with Skip-the-Line Entry: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Pompeii.
How much does Pompeii Guided Tour with Skip-the-Line Entry cost?
+
Prices start at $64 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Pompeii usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Pompeii Guided Tour with Skip-the-Line Entry take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Pompeii is not rushed.
Is Pompeii Guided Tour with Skip-the-Line Entry worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Pompeii, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Pompeii Guided Tour with Skip-the-Line Entry?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Pompeii Guided Tour with Skip-the-Line Entry suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Pompeii Guided Tour with Skip-the-Line Entry?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Pompeii can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Pompeii and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Pompeii Guided Tour with Skip-the-Line Entry start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Pompeii within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Pompeii?
+
On Outty we rank every Pompeii experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Premium Minivan Trip from Rome: Pompeii Tour & Lunch in Sorrento, Skip the Line Guided Tour of Pompeii Led by an Archaeologist, Explore Pompeii with an Archaeologist. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Pompeii?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Pompeii?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
