Awesome tour giving a fantastic overview
The tour gave us a great overview of Amalfi coast with a taste of Positano and the beautiful Sorrento coast and its gorgeous village as well as a highlight tour of Pompeii . Each stop was enough time to get a feel for the places and sample some of the lovely eateries or do a little shopping . Vincenzo our driver expertly navigated the tricky winding roads and always ensured he was waiting with the bus cooled for us . Mary was awesome with her local knowledge and explanation of Pompeii . She was entertaining and took care of us all and had great recommendations in the villages of where to eat and drink. . We thoroughly enjoyed our day and would recommend to anyone who wants a taste of it all

What can we say that can give our guide Vincenzo the best review possible? Five stars+ all the way! He was the best guide we’ve ever had and made a super hot day bearable and enjoyable! We went to 3 different locations and everything was organized so perfectly. Our only regret is that we didn’t have more time. What a fun and memorable experience! Pompeii portion was perfect but a long day.
Our tour guide at Pompeii was amazing (Cheeto). He was enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and respectful. The lunch was fine but we realized after the fact that “lunch included” didn’t mean prepaid. We couldn’t understand why we couldn’t order off the menu if that was the case. The drive along the mountain highway was beautiful but really a long time to spend in a van. Overall, a good day but pretty grueling.

Bad experience
We did not have a good experience with our driver Alonso. He did not follow the company’s stated itinerary at all. He completely skipped Conca dei Marini, which was a major stop on their stated itinerary. We were supposed to spend one hour there and see one of the most spectacular views of the Amalfi Coast and the island of Capri, which was the main reason for us to book the tour. But he completely skipped that. And because he skipped that stop, he dumped us at Amalfi for almost three and half hours although he himself repeatedly told us Almalfi is so small that it doesn’t take much time to see. So after one and half hour in Amalfi, we had nothing to do in the last two hours in the 100 degree heat and we’re literally just sitting around. Also, Pompeii was so hot, so the itinerary states we will go to Pompeii first, then the stop he skipped, the Almalfi. However, this driver Alonso took us to Pompeii at 2:00 when the temperature reached 45 degrees (113 Fahrenheit) there, which almost caused my daughters to have heat stroke. What’s even more shocking was that he repeatedly asked for tips in the end after all he did to mess up our tour. Of all the tours we booked in Europe, he’s the worst guide/driver yet the only one who asked for tips, which made us feel forced to tip him even though we were not happy with his service at all. Of all the tours we booked in Europe. Not only that, although we gave him a decent tip, he was not appreciative at all and showed clearly on his face he wanted even more money. So greedy and ungrateful. This Almalfi coast tour was one we looked forward to the most yet it turned out to be the worst tour of all the ones we had in Europe.

Conca is where the optional lunch experience described on the general product page takes place. Since your booking specifically excluded that experience, the Conca lunch stop was not included in the option you purchased. Everything included in your selected option was provided. In fact, although you booked a shared tour, we went one step further and upgraded your experience to a private tour at no additional charge. Regarding the order of the day, the sequence of stops may vary according to traffic, operating conditions and logistics along the Amalfi Coast. Visiting Pompeii later in the day was therefore not a failure to follow the itinerary. You received the complete 2-hour guided Pompeii experience with an archaeologist included in your booking. We certainly understand that Pompeii can be very hot during the summer. However, the approximately 3½ hours you received in Amalfi were not intended to leave you with “nothing to do.” Quite the opposite. For many travelers, having that much time in Amalfi is a wonderful opportunity: time to explore its historic center without rushing, visit the Cathedral, enjoy a leisurely lunch or drinks, relax at the beach, swim in the Mediterranean or take a boat ride along the coastline. Indeed, you chose to take a shared boat ride during your time in Amalfi. When an issue subsequently arose with that independent boat operator, even though the boat excursion was not operated by Mondo Guide and was not part of your booked tour, Alfonso personally intervened on your behalf and helped obtain a refund for you. We mention this simply because it provides important context regarding the level of assistance Alfonso actually provided throughout your day. We must also address the statement that Alfonso repeatedly requested tips. Alfonso categorically denies requesting a tip. Soliciting gratuities is not our policy. Alfonso is a highly valued member of our team whose professionalism and dedication have been recognized repeatedly by our guests. We are genuinely sorry that you ultimately left disappointed, and we respect your right to share that feeling. However, we must respectfully disagree with the statement that Alfonso “did not follow the company’s stated itinerary at all.” The documented facts are straightforward: You selected the option without the Conca lunch experience. Everything included in the option you purchased was provided. Your shared tour was upgraded to a private experience at no additional charge. You received approximately 3½ hours to enjoy Amalfi. Great day
We had a great day. Our guide with the ruins, Roberta, was very knowledgeable. It was super hot, but she kept us moving and entertained. It was wonderful to have a private driver, gaetano, because he was able to be flexible when we were ready to leave. Almafi was very hot and crowded so we were able to leave early and go to a less crowded town that he recommended. July was hot and crowded, so we appreciated the flexibility.
