    • There are three options for visiting Prison S21: 1.Audio Guide ($5): Rent an audio guide with interviews, detailed explanations, and availability in 14 languages (English, Français, Deutsch, Nederlands, Italiano, Español, Pусский, Svenska, 中文, แบบไทย, 한국인, 日本語, Melayu, Tiếng, Việt ). It provides comprehensive insights into the exhibits and the history of the Khmer Rouge regime. 2.Live Guide ($3-$5): Hire an in-house live guide for a more interactive experience. A live guide offers detailed knowledge, answers questions, and shares personal stories to enhance your visit. Live guide service is only in English. 3.Self-Guided: Explore the museum on your own with plenty of written information, including placards and signage. This option allows you to move at your own pace and focus on areas of interest. Regarding the audio guide at the prison, there are two versions available: the Highlight version and the Long version. The Highlight version, marked in red on the guide map, lasts approximately 60 minutes. We recommend this version for those participating in our tour. The Long version, which lasts about 120 minutes, is more suitable for private tours. If you wish to delve deeper into the history of the Khmer Rouge and spend more time at the museum, a private tour is recommended. When renting the audio guide, please begin your tour promptly and maintain a steady pace between stops. Avoid spending excessive time at any one stop to ensure you complete the tour within the allocated time. Return to the bus at the time specified by the bus attendant. You will have approximately 80 minutes to visit the museum, which most visitors find sufficient. If you feel you need more time, we suggest opting for a private tour instead.
    • There are two options for visiting the Killing Fields: 1.Audio Guide ($3): Rent an audio guide with interviews, detailed explanations, and availability in 14 languages. 2.Self-Guided: Explore the Killing Fields on your own with maps and informational signs to help guide you through the various areas, including the memorial stupa, mass graves, and excavation sites.
    • There are two options for visiting Royal Palace & Silver Pagoda: 1. Live Guide ($10/group for 1 hour): A knowledgeable guide can provide historical context and insights. They can share stories about the architecture, artifacts, and the significance of various parts of the palace. Live guide service is only in English. 2. Self-Guided: Explore the palace and pagoda at your own pace with maps and informational signage in English. It can be very enjoyable if you’re prepared and take the time to learn about the site in advance.
    • Please choose the option that best suits your preferences and budget for a richer experience. Please note that our bus tour is distinct from a tuktuk tour. Our tour is designed with Western tourists in mind, focusing on comfort, safety, and a richer experience compared to a tuk-tuk, with an English-speaking bus attendant who provides general assistance. Our service includes air-conditioned transportation, audio commentary and documentaries on board, as well as Wi-Fi and drinking water. We understand that our tour may be more expensive than a tuk-tuk ride, but we aim to provide a more comfortable, comprehensive, informative, and safe experience.
    • When making your booking, please make sure that your hotel/hostel is within our pickup zone, and please provide your WhatsApp number, for future communication. Our bus attendant will reach out to confirm the pick-up time and location. If you have any questions or need assistance during the tour, don’t hesitate to ask our bus attendant.

Excellent welcome, punctuality when picking up at the hotel. Van, more than old, the air conditioner was working.

    Basic bus tour.

Not quite the luxurious bus as the photo showed. Quite a rickety bus but the air con worked. I had to chase up for pick up time. Very limited information from the guide but a decent video played on the way to and from the killing fields. Enough time to complete visits but didn't do the royal palace as you have to make your own way back. No mention of a cruise. Disappointed based on the itinerary but did what we needed.

    Just a bus service

This is just a bus service to the killing fields and genocide museum, there is no information given on the bus. Probably a reasonable price for what it is.

Response from the operator: Dear Donald, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Our service is designed as a comfortable and reliable way to visit both the Genocide Museum and the Killing Fields. Onboard, our tour assistants normally plays a documentary film about Khmer Rouge on the way to the Killing Fields. We are sorry if, for any reason, this did not come across during your tour. For future travelers, our service includes hotel pick-up and drop-off, travel in a clean spacious air-conditioned bus with free Wi-Fi, bottled cold water, umbrellas, and the assistance of an English-speaking staff throughout the journey. These extras are designed to provide comfort, safety, and convenience compared with other transport options. We appreciate your comments and will review with our team to ensure every guest receives the full experience. Yours sincerely Phnom Penh Killing Fields Bus Tour

Phnom Penh Hop-on Hop-off Highlight Tour including Killing Fields: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phnom Penh.

How much does Phnom Penh Hop-on Hop-off Highlight Tour including Killing Fields cost?

    +

Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phnom Penh usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Phnom Penh Hop-on Hop-off Highlight Tour including Killing Fields take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phnom Penh is not rushed.

Is Phnom Penh Hop-on Hop-off Highlight Tour including Killing Fields worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Phnom Penh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Phnom Penh Hop-on Hop-off Highlight Tour including Killing Fields?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Phnom Penh Hop-on Hop-off Highlight Tour including Killing Fields suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Phnom Penh Hop-on Hop-off Highlight Tour including Killing Fields?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phnom Penh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phnom Penh and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Phnom Penh Hop-on Hop-off Highlight Tour including Killing Fields start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phnom Penh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Phnom Penh?

    +

On Outty we rank every Phnom Penh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half Day Tuol Sleng S21 and Choeung Ek Killing Field Tour, The Killing Field and Toul Sleng Genocide Museum (S21) Tour, Killing field and Toul Sleng genocide museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Phnom Penh?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Phnom Penh?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
